FBM KLCI: 1,541.15 pts (+5.59pts, +0.36%)

The FBM KLCI (+0.36%) outperformed the mixed regional markets driven by the bargain hunting activities within banking and telco heavyweights. Market breadth, however, remained negative as the decliners outnumbered the advancers by 557-to-406 stocks. Nevertheless, the technology sector (+2.36%) surged following the rebound on Wall Street overnight;  underpinned by gains in INARI (+9.0 sen), HONGSENG (+12.0 sen), and MPI (+108.0 sen). Meanwhile, the energy sector (-2.01%) witnessed a sharp fall as the sectorial index lost ground for the third consecutive session.
