The FBM KLCI (+0.78%) soared, capping the volatile morning session as investors took cue from the positive regional markets and Wall Street following the increased US retail sales data. Market breadth turned positive as the advancers led the decliners by 517-to-334 stocks. All 13 major sectorial indices ended in the positive territory; the energy sector (+4.01%) rallied, buoyed by gains in DIALOG (+6.0 sen), ARMADA (+2.5 sen), and HIBISCS (+7.0 sen), followed by the technology sector (+2.49%).
