The FBM KLCI (-0.32%) retreated further from the key 1,500 level amid negative undertone across regional markets as investors fretted ahead of the Jackson Hole meeting this week. Market breadth remained negative as the decliners outpaced the advancers by 467-to-407 stocks. The energy sector (+7.14%) bucked the negative performance across the broader market, as DIALOG (+9.0 sen), HENGYUAN (+129.0 sen), and PETRONM (+102.0 sen) surged after Saudi Arabia warned that OPEC could cut output to correct the recent oil price decline.
