CIMB: Trade between Malaysia and Germany is slated to see positive growth this year at around 15%

Trade between Malaysia and Germany is slated to see positive growth this year at around 15%, despite the gloomy global economic outlook, said the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC). Its executive director, Alexander Stedtfeld said electrical and electronics goods, machinery, chemical and auto-parts would remain the main goods to buoy the trade expansion between both countries.

  • Last year, trade between Malaysia and Germany appreciated to €12bn from €10bn previously.
  • Malaysia's exports to Germany was around €6.5bn in 2011 while German exports to Malaysia is estimated at €5.5bn. (Bernama)
