Raja Tan Sri Dato Seri Arshad Bin Raja Tun Uda ("Raja Arshad") is currently Chairman of Ekuiti Nasional Berhad, a government-linked private equity firm and Chairman of Icon Offshore Berhad. He is also a director of Maxis Berhad having served as its Chairman for eleven years. He was formerly a director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Sime Darby Berhad.
He is the Chancellor of Universiti Selangor, a position he has held since 2011.
Prior to this, Raja Arshad was for eighteen years the Executive Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia, Chairman of the Leadership Team of PwC Asia 7 and a member of the PwC Global IFRS Board. During the Asian financial crisis of 1997, Raja Arshad was appointed Chairman of the Board of Danamodal Nasional Berhad, one of the 3 special-purpose vehicles set up by the government to manage the financial crisis.
Raja Arshad was appointed the first Chairman of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board when it was established in 1997; internationally, he served as a member of the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board. He served as a member of the Securities Commission when it was first set up in 1993. He was also appointed a member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, the Investment Panel of the Employees Provident Fund and the Board of Trustees of the Nasional Art Gallery and an Adjunct Professor at Universiti Utara Malaysia.
Raja Arshad is actively involved with charitable institutions; he chairs the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor, Yayasan Amir and Yayasan Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Lembaga Zakat Selangor, Yayasan DayaDiri and a member of the Dewan DiRaja Selangor (Council of the Royal Court of Selangor), an advisory council to HRH Sultan of Selangor.
