Dato Cheah, a Malaysian aged 64, is a major shareholder of Apollo, by virtue of his direct interest in Scoop Capital Sdn Bhd (SCSB).
Dato Cheah has more than 35 years of experience in the F&B industry, in particular food related products i.e. ice-cream and confectionary. He is currently a shareholder and a director of several private limited companies within the SCSB Group which are involved in the F&B industry, including Golden Scoop Sdn Bhd, which is the master franchisee of Baskin-Robbins in Malaysia and Singapore. In addition, the SCSB Group also undertakes restaurants and café operations via its Baskin-Robbins outlets.
Dato Cheah has throughout his career in the F&B industry accumulated immense experience and knowledge and has been actively involved in product development, supply chain management, quality assurance, sales and marketing (including market analysis and marketing strategies) and distribution (including distribution channel management) as well as human resource management. Dato Cheah has also cultivated strong relationships with suppliers, vendors and customers. His strong business acumen and leadership has been instrumental in steering the growth of the SCSB Group.
Save for his indirect equity interest in Apollo via SCSB, Dato Cheah does not hold any directorships or other substantial shareholdings in any other public listed company in Malaysia.
