Dato' Seri Dr. Sow Chin Chuan completed the Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Federal Institute of Technology (FIT) College, Kuala Lumpur in 1980, and obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America in 1999. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Business Emphasis Entrepreneurship by the same university in 2002.

Dato' Seri Dr. Sow Chin Chuan started his career working for a reputable tiling company as a site supervisor for eight (8) months. Dato' Seri Dr. Sow subsequently set up Teck Chuan Tiling & Construction Enterprise in 1982. The company was later converted to a private limited company by the name of Maxcon Sdn. Bhd. (Now known as ESYS Construction Sdn. Bhd.). In addition to construction, he became involved in the wood based industry in the early 1980s and set up DPS Realty Sdn. Bhd. in 1984. In 1992 and 1995, he expanded his business in the wood based industry when he bought over DPS Industries Sdn. Bhd. and Shantawood Sdn. Bhd. respectively. He has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the Construction and wood-based industry.

Dato' Seri Dr. Sow Chin Chuan is the spouse of Datin Seri Chu Kim Guek who is the Executive Director and major shareholder of the Company.
Dato' Seri Dr. Sow Chin Chuan is the father of Mr Eric Sow Yong Shing who is the Executive Director of the Company.
Dato' Seri Dr. Sow Chin Chuan also the father of Miss Emily Sow Met Chet who is the Executive Director of the Company.
