Tunku Alizakri has more than 20 years of experience at senior management and board level roles in multiple sectors and industries which include retirement fund, financial services, central banking, healthcare, media and telecommunications, plantation and oil & gas, and property development. Prior to joining EPF, Tunku Alizakri was the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Iclif Leadership and Governance Centre. He had also held the positions of Director of Strategic Management at Bank Negara Malaysia, Director and Head of Strategy and Corporate Affairs at DiGi Telecommunications Berhad, and Vice-President and Head of Group Strategic Planning at Malayan Banking Berhad.

Tunku Alizakri is a board member of Bumi Armada Berhad and Petronas Dagangan Berhad.
He is also the Chairman of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad (MAVCAP) and sits on the board of Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad, Malaysia Airlines Berhad, Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad and Yayasan Hasanah.

As a follow up on the announcement dated 19th February 2024 Change in Boardroom-MR TUNKU ALIZAKRI BIN RAJA MUHAMMAD ALIAS, United Plantations Berhad(UP) would like to further clarify the reason for the resignation disclosed in the announcement.
In line with good governance, proactive action was taken by Tunku Alizakri and the company to avoid any Conflict of Interest(COI) issue that may arise from the perceived COI due to his close family members being on the boards of companies in the same industry.
The Company wishes to express its gratitude to Tunku Alizakri's professionalism and contributions during his tenure as a Board Member.
