Datuk Hasmi Bin Hasnan began his career in 1979 as a Valuer in the Land and Survey Department of Sarawak. Since 1982, he has been involved in a wide range of businesses including valuation, project management, property development and management, construction, timber, manufacturing, trading and publishing. In June 1993, he was appointed as the Managing Director of Naim Land Sdn. Bhd. and in July 2003 he became the Managing Director of Naim Holdings Berhad and has since been the main driving force behind the Naim Group's growth and expansion.

Datuk Hasmi holds the position of Managing Director in Naim Holdings Berhad (Naim), and Executive Chairman in Dayang Enterprise Holdings Berhad (DEHB), which is an ultimate major shareholder of Perdana, which presents a conflict of interest in view of the recurrent related party transactions between Naim Group, DEHB Group and Perdana Group where he is involved in management decision making of contracts related to both parties. Perdana Group has and will continue to address this conflict of interest situation by seeking the approval of the shareholders of Perdana to enter into the recurrent related party transactions with Naim Group and DEHB Group and Datuk Hasmi will abstain from all Board deliberations and voting on matters related to this.
