He started his career as a Real Estate Agent and today owns a real estate agency, Hectares and Stratas. He is the Past President of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents and served as a board member on the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents from 1998-2004. Together with other investors, he has over the past 15 years purpose built for investment income, many buildings which have housed multinationals. He is also a Director of a number of private companies which are investment holding companies.

Mr Tew Peng Hwee @ Teoh Peng Hwee is the parent to Ms Maxine Teoh Sui Vern, who is his alternate director on the Board of Axis REIT Managers Berhad, the management company of Axis Real Estate Investment Trust.
