Working Experience
Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah has extensive experience working in the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department from 1984 until 2003 and was involved in the preparation of the Fifth Malaysia Plan, Action Plan of the First Industrial Master Plan, and setting up of the Energy Division. In 2003, he joined the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and held various positions, including Principal Assistant Secretary in the Economics and International Division, Head of Econometrics Section, Head of MultiLateral Relations, Deputy Under Secretary (Macro) of the Economics and International Division, and Under Secretary of Economics and International Division, before being appointed as Deputy Secretary General (Policy) in 2011. He is currently the Secretary General of MOF. He is currently the Chairman of Retirement Fund Incorporated and sits on the boards of Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA), International Islamic University Malaysia, Capital Market Development Fund, Malaysian Venture Capital Development Council, Lembaga Tabung Haji, Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS), Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad (SJPP), Danainfra Nasional Berhad, Malaysia Airline System Berhad (MAS), Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and GovCo Holdings Berhad. He was previously the nominee director of Ministry of Finance Incorporated, the holder of the Special Share of FGVH under the Memorandum and Articles of Association of FGVH.
