More Malindo maths..
Since Malindo Air's maiden flight took off to Kota Kinabalu on March 22 this year, close to 300,000 passengers have flown with the airline.
Chandran said Malindo Air is "conservatively" aiming to double up its passenger volume to 3 million next year.
This is despite its capacity of about 4.8 million passengers, with the airline's average load factor at a level of 70%.

HLX4U Karin Phua 400,000 is about 13,333 pax a day. Can be done if all flights full and operating at max sectors.
25/08/2013 18:47
Hmmm...lets give them 22 flights a day with the 739=4000 Pax, 28 flights with the ATR = 2000 Pax...so Maximum could be around 6000 Passengers with a 100% load Karin.....but you can of course still believe in the Malindo Stories :-P.
And after that...how much Money will they burn?
25/08/2013 22:02
HLX4U, how do you calculate 22 flights with the 739? Based on 4 or 6 739?
Just curious how Malindo maths works!
While waiting for AA to recover from shock.

JOHOR BARU (Aug 23): Fast-growing hybrid airline Malindo Air is set to compete head-on for passengers with AirAsia Bhd in India, as it looks to expand its operations internationally.
Malindo, an affiliate of Indonesian budget carrier Lion Air, is looking to launch three routes to New Dehli, Bombay and Kochi in India by October this year, Malindo chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said.
Chandran said the airline which began service in late March 2013, is waiting for the green light from the Indian authorities.
"We are hoping to get a response within the next one to two months from the Indian authorities," he said after the official opening of Malindo's airport-ticketing office at the Senai International Airport here today.
Malindo is expanding internationaly, starting with its maiden flight to Dhaka, Bangladesh next week.
Chandran said the airline is looking to almost double its route capacity to 20 from 11 currently, as it aims to hit passenger volume of 1.5 million by year-end.
He added that the airline has been drawing-in passengers due to its competitive pricing plus the comfort of its services. Malindo has carried close to 300,000 passengers to date.
Malindo's major shareholders are Malaysia’s National Aerospace & Defence Industries Sdn Bhd (NADI) and Indonesia's PT Lion Group.
Malindo is 51% owned by Nadi and 49% by PT Lion Grup, the parent of Indonesia's privately-owned airline, Lion Air.
Lion Air in turn controls about half of Indonesia's domestic air travel market.
Malindo expects to have a fleet of 10 jets and ATR turboprop aircraft by year-end. – theedgemalaysia.com

Mar 22 to Aug 22, 300,000 passengers, then 1.2mil passengers from Aug 23 to Dec 31? That would require all planes to fly daily on max.

Affin Research maintains "Buy" on AirAsia
KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Research is maintaining its “Buy” call on AirAsia with a target price of RM3.80 as the group has shown strong resistance against various market conditions and industry competitions.
“We continue to like AirAsia’s competitiveness, which is well reflected by its strong operating statistics, as well as the group’s regional growth strategy.
“Notwithstanding that, given the recent region wide sell-down, we believe AirAsia could be at risk of selling pressure, considering its high foreign shareholding,” it said in a note on Thursday.
It said for its second quarter, AirAsia posted a core net profit of RM143mil, taking its first half profit of RM303mil.
“2Q13 revenue grew by 5.5% on-year fuelled by a 12% increase in pax carried.
“However, this was partially offset by a 10.0% drop in average fare to RM159. Revenue per kilometre grew by 12.7% on-year ahead of the 12.5% increase in capacity,” it said.

Alien79, you are talking to a tape recorder who keeps repeating news everyday. Buy or sell, you own call. A few years ago, tony said this is a RM5/share company...in today's stiff competition, high old prices and low ringgit value, I am not too sure. But hopefully, (ya, in denial mode), it will make back Rm3.20 and not continue going SOUTH! If monday drop to RM2.60..or 2.40, you guys still dare to buy or not?
