For people who sold during the recent correction, I would classify them as short sighted, lacking vision, kiasu and kiasi(in Hokkien). They would rather believe in rumours and misinformation. Please note that the fundamentals of the company are very strong and solid. It will breaks new highs and continue going north bound.

Breakeven crack spread is 4USD, Jan crack spread is 7.7 USD. Profit margin is 3.70 USD per barrel. For a Production of 120,000 bpd, Hengyuan would make 444,000 USD per working day, or 13,320,000 USD for January 2018. Crack spread of 8.50 USD for February 2018 will result in 16,200,000 USD, while crack spread of 9.12 USD in March 2018 would give a profit of 18,432,000 USD. Total profit for Jan to Mar 2018 will be 47,952,000 USD or 191,808,000 RM for 2018 Q1.
Plus conservative estimate of inventory gain of 120,000,000 RM, this will bring in a profit 311,000,000 RM or >1 RM EPS.
This is just my estimate to help those who need to know how crack spread and uptrend/downtrend of oil price in the world market will be affecting the performance of Hengyuan.
On top of this, there will be currency gain as RM is strengthening vis-à-vis USD as debts of Hengyuan are in USD and payment of crude is in USD.
But bear in mind that there will always be unforeseen risks which I am not going to elaborate here.

Current spread is about 7.7USD but the forward months show upward trend, from Feb of 8.5USD to 9.5USD before easing again.

When banks come out with 2018 stock picks, my experience tell me that it is better to do the opposite, sell into strength , don't buy the shares recommended without doing your own research first.
All banks have their own stockbroking houses and when they have collected enough and wanted to dispose to realize their gain, they will tell you it is a buy.
In fact they have vested interest in the shares picked. Be wary!

If anyone wants another stock to invest other than HengYuan, FPI may be one to take a bet. This is a cash rich, debt free, improving earning and growth stock after selling off its loss making UK subsidiary.
It is dividend paying, forecast to give special dividend in coming February 2018. Refer to its past annual reports and MIDF cover please.
