Media is indeed plural. However, it is not wrong for the Chief Editor to treat all media as a collective noun that can be expressed as a singular. For example, we may say, "All of America is in mourning in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting". This can refer equally to all Americans in the plural or the entire population of America in the singular. Wrong grammar! Media is the plural of medium please. Article above from Chief Editor! Unbelievably poor command of English from the Chief Editor.
