FortuneBlooming but for those holders of supermax or topglove who hv already made 400 - 600% gains & who now want to cut win & lock in profit ...

for them migrating now to NetX is brilliant strategy

becos then they would be setting themselves up for another several hundred percent gains

Poor calvin. He did the reverse. Sold houses to invest into Next and get decimated. Left with non meaningful amount to invest in other stocks.

Maybe he can sell more houses to try for better luck.

Why involve in cyclicals when you have so much fun long term with durable growth companies?

Of course, I hardly find stocks of 1 sen, 2 sen or 3 sen enticing. Only gamblers will promote these to suckers.

It is true. Those who did not pile into gloves at the beginning of the pandemic would have missed this once in a lifetime opportunity to ride up with the glove counters. I was lucky. Why? Because the top 2 glove companies are high quality growth companies; fulfilling my investing selection criteria.

When KKP passed his baton to his son in Mui, calvin the manic was excited. Turnaround was round the corner and soon, he shouted and promoted.

Alas, turnarounds occur rarely. In past, I have invested in 2 turnarounds which was very profitable. But then it was obvious that these companies were getting better revenues and earnings, but they were neglected due to recent poor performances. I was referring to Hai O and GCB of a few years back.

As for mighty MUI, I am shocked when I took a look at its NTA today. I have always remembered how its NTA was 50 sen per share and at 20 sen price, it was "undervalued". Having not track this counter for sometime now, shockingly, its NTA is 7.8 sen today! Its price is 14.5sen!

It has certainly lost a lot of its equity value. Those who invested in MUI because it was undervalued should now realise it was undervalued for a very good reason. It is a gruesome company destroying value. Its " undervaluation" to its asset value was appropriate: only fools think they can spot value in this company.

Stay with quality. In the long run, you are protected against capital risk and timing risk holding quality companies.

Some guys can be so slow when they see fortune sleeping or lying stagnant before them.

Then they spring into frenzied action when fortune starts running & flying away from them.

Becos they just do not have the clarity of vision to see that what is in front of their very eyes is actually golden fortune, but dressed only in humble, plain, homely garb.

Done properly, value investing -- e.g., focusing on low-P/E, low-P/B, low-TEV/EBITDA stocks for ideas -- has proven to work quite well.

But as successful growth-investor Bill O'Neil warns,

"What seems too high and risky to the majority generally goes higher, and what seems low and cheap generally goes lower."

In Dec 2019 and Jan 2020, calvin et al sung the songs of how cheap this counter Netx was. At 2.5 sen and 3 sen, what could go wrong?

Well, we now learn that a 3 sen stock can still go down to 1 sen, giving you a 67% loss.

Speculation is when the "investor" focus "not on what an asset will produce but rather on what the next fellow will pay for it."

Speculators may knowingly pay more than what a stock is worth in the hope of selling it for an even higher price, with the goal of dumping them before the stock becomes worthless.

.
"Nothing sedates rationality like large doses of effortless money, however, irrational exuberance and boundless optimism is never sustainable."

A new wave of investors learns some very old lessons. One of those is that "speculation is most dangerous when it looks easiest."
