But more importantly is the timing of bonus issue usually mean the operator is either expecting big things ahead to propel the profits, and/or just wants to invite more investors (mostly retailers).

My bet is on both.

There's no difference for the regular shareholders.

For a regular listed company, many won't be able to easily provide 4:1 bonus share, unless they've been listed for many many years. The significance is probably only to brag that PBB has had good profits in the past to have the large amount in retained profit.

So there's basically no cost to issue bonus share aside from administrative.
And yes it will dilute the future dividend per share, but assuming div payout is the same, your net dividend will remain the same unless you sell partial after the bonus issue ex-date.

Not sure probably the short selling ban is still in effect.

I feel that today is mostly downtrend apart from PBB HLB.

My feeling is current level is sustainable, and should be further uptrend moving forward but not gigantic in the near term.

Intrinsic no gua, but gorengability much much better, plus usually it does mean the timing of this exercise could mean business is on an extraordinary uptrend, otherwise the promoter of this exercise doesn't gain much.

Past history on many other solid counters with bonus issue mostly tells us that share price after ex-date does go up more and sometimes (rare) even surpass pre-bonus levels if you give it time.
I've enjoyed it from those Batu Kawan / KLK times, and the more recent gloves also the same.

Those who doesn't know how is bonus issue going to impact dividend, just know that while their portion of share quantity goes up, there is dilution in terms of dividend per share but since you hold more shares, the dividend in total that you will receive will be the same.

This is assuming the total dividend payout remains the same Q vs Q.

Actually got some minor difference between share split and bonus issue, but both also differ purely on the books.
