The purpose is to provide transportation from one point to another, that's the core and AA prices it just for that, imho. Anything extra, pay for it.
Cut throat pricing is just a perception. Price is still cheaper, in comparison to other airline.
But if one wants royal treatment, prepare to burn the wallet.

AA anD GLOVE companies are in dfferent industries.
One was forced to halt operation while another struck jackpot due to pandemic demand. Jackpots, "easy come, easy go".
On the other hand, AA starved and managed to pull through and still hanging on.
This shows character which is lacking in most companies. Numbers are not the complete story.

There is no difference between Indonesia and Malay sia. There are similarities in terms of laidback attitude and racism.
Yes, MAS is funded by public money despite being a failure, for obvious reason.
AA rose to global level although they were troubled by parasite and warlords, locally.
AA's progress is stunted by the pandemic and it is a speed breaker. It offer time to TF to identify his weaknesses and hidden enemies. I am sure TF will bring AA to another level considering his efforts to resuscitate AA.
