Let's rewind back to Dufu Q3 results where in the prospects they did mention sales is going to get beaten badly. What they said back then, is reflected in Q4 announced yesterday. They have been very transparent to the minority shareholders like us. How many companies do that in Bursa?

Can I check with anyone here who intend to take up the rights via public Bank. This is the first time I am subscribing via Public Bank. Seems a lot cheaper at RM4 and without stampt duty as per their Prospectus. Unfortunately, after I logged on into Public Bank website and click the e-rights issue, there is nothing in the public bank website. anyone has the same issue?

giving RM7.7m back to employees is fine but it should be apportioned over a 12 month period..The decision on giving the bonus I supposed is based on their year-end 31 Dec financial results...Unfortunately, it is charged one shot and hit the Q1 results, and thus distorted the quarterly results...
I don't think such a move is a good practice of corporate governance and I think Fund Mangers will now be tactful with management.

Very disappointed with their latest quarter results...At such at high CPO price, Group wise they r still making losses..Sold at 29 cts...it may go up higher with the current streaks of high CPO price but I think I will switch to BPlant for more profit certainty

Reported by the edge this weekend..that's why the fly down..
News about JCY losing a major customer has put investors on the alert. There are concerns that a scaling back on buying by HDD producers as they embark on a rationalization of their supply chain may hurt the market.
Apart from JCY, two others listed HDD players are DUFU and Notion.
Industry observers are of the view that JCY’s announcement does not reflect the situation in the entire HDD market, citing competition and pricing as possible reasons for the JCY customer’s decision.
It is worth noting that there are various mechanical components in HDDs, with JCY mainly involved in producing base plates while DUFU and Notion manufacture disk spacers. The components are then supplied to three HDD giants, namely Seagate, Western Digital and Toshiba.
Market observers say the advantage enjoyed by DUFU and Notion is that demand for disk spacers increases in tandem with storage capacity. That is why observers see healthy growth for the next two years from Jan 2021 at least, especially enterprise servers for cloud computing in a post pandemic.
However for base plates, in which JCY has a presence – the growth goes in tandem with the unit of shipment which has been falling over the years because low end HDDs are being replaced by SDDs which a are faster, lighter, more durable and consume less energy.
The unit of shipment for HDDs is down 10% every year. Now (Jan 2021) we don’t talk about the unit of shipment but it is calculated based on the amount of storage which has been growing 30% per year since 10 years ago.
The storage growth will be even higher in the next five years from Jan 2021 driven by the work from home arrangements because of the pandemic. Technological advancements such as 5G will also spur the expansion in the HDD segment.
Exponential growth in data gas prolonged the life span of HDDs. As such HDD component manufacturers are focusing on higher end HDDs catering for enterprises.
Whole SSDs are seen as a threat for HDDs observers think that more time is needed for the SSD segment to catch up, on the back of huge investment cost involved. Despite the SSD price coming down in the past two years the cost of ownership for a higher version of HDD is still 10x cheaper than that of SSD.
Overall industry players do not foresee a structural change to the HDD segment, as demand from enterprise sector is still growing, albeit with shrinking orders from the consumer side.
Enterprise hubs such as Google will not choose to change to SSDs entirely because of the cost efficiency consideration. It is not just about the storage issue but they have to take into account other factors such as electricity voltage and backup system. Observers do not think the price gap between HDDs and SSDs will be closed anytime soon.
Enterprise HDDs will continue to be the target market for HDD component manufacturers. And it will tough for these manufacturers to venture into the SSD market due to the huge differences in internal components.
The HDD segment contributes 80% to Taiwan’s DUFU top line.
JCY loss of its major customer is expected to have a negative impact on its financials with possible impairment provisions for FY2021. In response it said a major realignment of its customer base has commenced.
Currently only 40% of Notion top line is derived from HDD business.
