I have already bad experience with Digi. Why port out to Digi? Digi's CEO should be purchasing its shares in the open market to instill some confidence in the company.

The telco sector is facing one of the greatest challenges since its inception. WE do not know how much gomen is charging for spectrum fees. If it is not reasonable, the whole sector will plunge. Are u willing to take this risk?

I have more than 1 line and I have already shifted one from Digi to Umobile. At least, it is faster than Digi. You can see Digi's price is stagnant.

Every telco suffers from churn rate. They lose some n gain some. The question is whether it is net gain or net loss. The price can still hold because the big boys think otherwise.
If you know somebody working there, you are able to know. But we do not have those info.

The battle ground, I believe, is the quality n speed of its mobile broadband. If u buy something cheaper but suffers from slow speed, it is certainly a waste.

By the way, I am using Digi n I am thinking to shift to other telcos. If others can offer better speed, I do not mind paying extra $10-$20 per month.

investors sell due to opportunity cost. When they buy, they buy with pre-conceived expectations. When it is no longer there, why cling on to hope? It is like trading futures. Once the setup is not valid, we just cut loss n move on.

It is true the situation would be rectified. But if RSPO council make an exception of them or just give them a slap on the wrist, RSPO would lose their own credibility. Everybody could burn n rectify later.

While this may be true, there are also many who are porting out of Digi due to slow speed. So who is the main bene? Umobile, I think

Fr The Edge today, due to contractual obligations, IOI is obliged to buy RSPO compliant CPO fr other players to supply their customers. Or they have to compensate them.

Digi also got lots of problem. I am using Digi line n I found their speed sub-standard. The problem with the telco sector is the gomen's spectrum fees. If they charge a reasonable fees then the sector will fully recover. But no one knows what amount gomen is charging.

Telenor's CEO said the price should be reasonable. Otherwise, who have the means to keep expanding n introducing new technology?

The price of palm oil went up. But yr production also decrease. This will counterbalance the gain in the price. The question is to what extent is the gain offset by the decrease in production.

Once the picture in the telecom sector becomes clearer, the price too becomes more stable. This is the price u have to pay for taking less risk. If u want to buy cheaper, u should have bought when things are no clear n murky in the sector.

Oil multinationals have vested interest in maintaining oil in the transport section. The huge investment in infrastructure, oil pipelines, refineries, oil tankers, oil storage etc already in place means no government have the political will to change all these overnight. Changing means incurring huge investments no government can afford. Cars will continue to run on petrol for many long years to come.

What the Minister said n reported in the Sun last few days was: spectrum reallocation was to improve services in rural areas. Allocation means those spectrum allocated will not be subjected to auction. Gomen will determine the new fees telcos have to pay. This is far better than auctioning.

Then where does 'auction of spectrum' fit in? MCMC now has a block of 900HzM not allocated to any telco. This block can be auctioned off.

During the meeting with the industry captains, the industry captains suggest: 1) make 700 HzM band available to auctioning since no one is using it now. 2) refarm those spectrum given to those companies which did not built any infrastructure n merely renting it to other telcos.

The picture is clearer now. Due to spectrum reallocation, telcos are expected to spend 1-2 billion over 10 years meaning about 100,000 per year to add equipment to maintain the same quality

If u have observed. Buyers n sellers blocked both entrance n exit. If u want to buy, u have to pay the seller's price otherwise u will be jammed in the long queue. Same if u want to sell, u have to pay the buyer's price. I believe both are gomen funds. If they want to induce some panic selling, the buyers on the buy sell would suddenly disappear.

The telecommunications sector is not moving due to gomen's new policy on spectrum. by doing this, all companies are affected in that they can no longer afford to pay big dividend. ASM, EPF, Tabung Haji are all going to give less dividends now. Not only this, the market value of their investments have also gone down. The sword cuts both ways.

They changed the policy when all the network are already in place. Redistributing spectrum means that when the plug is removed, all our lines will experience drop calls etc. Celcom has given the hint that they will have to spend RM1 -2 billion over 10 years. Not one year. It means the quality of our calls will drop no matter what line u are using.
