kurakura, matrix has kindly shared his excellent knowledge on trailing stop with us. I will try to address your other questions to the best of my ability.

(1) & (2): We do not employ any specific scan to build the watchlist. But there are various software filters (available freely) that can be used to generate a list of stocks to look at. There are also paid softwares in the market that alerts you on stocks to watch out for. However, do note that these filters are not the holy grail to a jackpot stock. They give you a starting point to analyze these stocks further.

From this stock list, you can go through their indicators and candlestick patterns to filter further. You will probably realize that different indicators of the stock can send different signals which can confuse the trader. So, there is no one indicator(s) that will indicate when to buy or sell. But you can look out for trading patterns or bullish/bearish reversal candles to make your trading decisions.

We do prefer to trade stocks that are in Wave 3 (stage 2 if you use staging). The trading plan is for a specific stock. Irregardless of the the overall market, we trade according to our trading plan. Whether its an uptrend or downtrend, there are always stocks that goes counter to it.

(4) It is best to keep our trading counters to a max of 5 to 6 stocks at any one time. If not we will be over trading. Different individuals will have different risk tolerance. So, the risk taking can vary. There is no really hard and fixed rule to it.

st51, the support of Wintoni at 0.30 is still holding. We do not advise on trading decisions. You will need to refer to your trading plan for guidance. TA tells us the history of the stock but it does not tell us the future. Please trade according to your trading plan. If you do not have a trading plan, we would strongly suggest you draw one up. Then you will have a better idea of how you want to trade this stock.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 8, 2015 10:45 AM (Earlier comment on Wintoni):

shengtat, Wintoni is in a correction phase with an immediate support at 0.31. Resistance is at 0.35. It is currently testing this 0.31 support level and appears to have support today at 0.30. We do not encourage averaging down. You will need to decide on your next course of action whether to cut loss or to see if the support of 0.30 is strong and sustainable. Hope that helps.

Anastasia Alexie, Marco:

Trading sideways between the support line of 0.165 and resistance line of 0.185/0.19. Although some accumulation is taking place, it needs to break out of its resistance line with volume to trend up.

We usually look at the weekly and daily chart. Some traders do look at shorter time frame charts like the 15m chart for day trading.

MainBesar, one cannot conclude that the shooting star is a bearish signal for RGB although it does throw caution into the wind, in case its a false breakout. You might want to monitor the trading patterns for the next 2 sessions to have a better indication of its direction. It broke out from its key resistance of 0.184 yesterday with volume which is good and as with stocks that had been trading sideways for a prolonged period, you can expect lots of over hang on the stock where any upward movement will attract selling pressures. If the star is taken out tomorrow, it will resume its upward momentum. Do set your stop loss and trade accordingly to your trading plan.

i3i2i1, yes, something like that. We don't want to let a winning stock turn into a loss making or break even stock because of greed.

General

2015-04-21 17:25 | Report Abuse

i3i2i1, we set trailing stop when the stock is riding on profits. Say, your stock is now 1.00. You need to ask yourself how much the price need to fall back down before you decide you will not risk it any more and take profits. So, you may decide the price to be 0.95. If it does not hit 0.95, you will stay invested in the hope that it could go beyond 1.00. If it hits 0.95, you will just sell to take profits off the table.

You will not find this function in any system. This is set by you. The trailing stop for each trader can vary depending on your own risk profile.

michaelwoo, just to add on to sunlight's input on fibo. I don't think traders who use the 4 stage cycle rely on fibo. Fibo is more extensively used in wave reading as you are aware.

In Fibo retracements and extension, identifying the swing low, swing high and retracement swing high/low is important. It would be best that you check for any fibo tutorials online to learn more about them as it will give you a more detailed understanding on the subject. Do bear in mind that we do not use fibo independently but rather in conjunction with other indicators.

Anastasia Alexie, Perdana:

It is breaking out from its triple bottom pattern when it broke its 1.30 resistance which has bullish implications. Immediate support is now at 1.30 and further support can be expected at 1.25. The resistance levels are at 1.35 and 1.43. A successful breakout will carry a final TP of 1.61. Just to reinforce what I have been advocating previously, for long term investment, do check out its FA.

No one can predict if its TP will be achieved and when but do set your trailing stop if you are a short to mid-term trader and for long term investment, you will need to review and monitor your long term TP at regular intervals based on its latest FA.

Yes, taking your total cost divided by the total share will yield your average cost..

kk8888, there is usually no time limit in selecting the highest volume candle. A lot of judgment is involved in determining the support (S) and resistance (R). We try to look for the recent high volume candles.

When to time your entry into a stock depends on your trading strategy. Some traders like to collect near S levels and scale in when it breaks a strong R or some will only want to move in when it breaks out from a strong R. We usually cross check the breakout to various indicators, be on the look out for price reversal patterns to ascertain the breakout and be prepared in case its a false breakout by setting our stop loss price.

After breaking out from the R, you can use any methods for your TP and below are just some suggested ways:
1. use the next R
2. use Fibo projection
3. decide on how much you want to make on the stock and sell when it hits that price. If a stock is 0.90 and you want make a 0.05 on the stock, you will sell when it hits 0.95.

There will be other ways traders set their TP. The above is some of them.

HI TCB, i hv few question here

1)you choose highest volume candle as your support & resistance, do you have time range like the highest volume candle appear within 3 month or 6 month or 1 year?
2) once it break the resistance is that the best timing to enter? Anything we need to put aware?
3) after break the resistance and it show positive sign, how do we determine our TP ?

thanks

Anastasia, novice8 is right. The 8% gain works out to be the same for 1,000 or 3,000 units. If you have bought those 3,000 at various prices, then you will just average out your cost over the 3,000 units and a gain of 8% on the average cost would also work out to be the same for 1,000 or 3,000 units.

General

2015-04-11 01:32 | Report Abuse

Dunknow, ...hahaha.. your questions are always welcome. We will try our best to share our trading experience with you.

Based on your scenario, we need to see if the stock is sold down on high volume. If it is, then the selling pressure has probably not subsided and for collection, you may want to wait a while to see if the support at 0.915 holds. Usually if a support is broken, I would think twice about adding more of the stock. If it closes between the support and our stop loss, it is testing the support level. Needless to say, we also need to confirm the strength or weakness of the stock by cross checking with a range of indicators and by assessing the candlestick pattern.

There is also a chance that the stock price can recover and rebound above the support. That is why we set our stop loss 1 or 2 ticks below the support to allow for this tolerance. Once the stock hits our stop loss, we usually do not think twice in selling off the stock. If not, the trader would still be holding on to it and hoping that it would recover.

Please remember that before you enter into the trade, you have already analyzed the stock and set your stop loss as the absolute maximum tolerable price you will allow to drop before calling it quits. So, no point in holding on to the stock and hoping for a price recovery. Might as well liquidate and move on to another potentially more profitable trade.

If it touches your stop loss and close at the support, you can hold out a bit longer to assess if the support can hold. But if you detect a lot of weakness in the stock, it is best to get out to protect your capital. For very disciplined traders like Matrix, they cut off at their stop loss price without a second thought.

Currently attempting a price reversal but is facing stiff resistance at 0.80. It needs to fill the gap resistance at 0.80/0.83 supported with good volume in order to validate the reversal. It is expected to face another strong resistance at 0.89. Immediate support rest at 0.74. Due to the overhang in the stock, you can expect selling activities when the stock attempts to scale higher.
