It's interesting who bought the bulk of the 300m shares. Perhaps Insiders (election fund) who think PNB may be forced to take it private. Say if this happens (wishful thinking) & PNB offers at NTA values, all it needs is RM300m with EPF etc not participating. It can then pump RM1.5b to retire some of the debts & re-organise any way it wants. Its almost the same as now cos i think no minority shh will take up the rights. PNB still will have to come out with the bulk of the cash if the current deal is approved.

Some hidden hand will push above 0.30 nearer to the EGM or some contract will be announced

All i can say is good luck, both will go through somehow, PNB wants to buy cheap & sell high when O&G recovers

SC cannot give the approval without the shh making the decision first. IF shh vote in favor, then the SC approval will be a mere formality. SC cannot overrule the Shh.

My view
At EGM, PNB can vote on rights issue but cannot vote to exempt MGO based on The Companies Act
If MGO exemption fails, PNB can either cancel the rights issue or take it private. The price will not be 30 sen cos that's the rights issue price. PNB has to buy 1 share from the mkt & then offer to take it private at that price but no one will give it to him.

Very embarrassing if this senario happens & very likely to happen if EPF abstains from voting.

The only way for EPF to stop selling is when thefinish selling another 600m shares or so.
That may take another year or 2.
Even with the dividend yield at about 5-6%, EPF still wants to sell.
If you trace back, the Company has been making money ever since it got listed but its of no consequence to EPF.
God only knows what is their investment cost

As far as I'm trading this stock, my view is the operator is EPF & KWSP with EPF selling using foreign broker code.

There is another player who has been collecting millions of shares at these levels but who do not need to disclose their hand. This is happening for the last couple of months. I believe within 3-6 months (perhaps sooner) we shall see a major rally upwards on some positive developments.

This may be the last leg downwards. Almost every broker has a buy call, the catalyst for the push perhaps is the upcoming quarterly results.

Keep fingers crossed.

Some broker research mentioned that the results should show between 100-120m profit this qtr as kitchen sinking exercise already don last qtr. Hope it's true.

A few strategies one can adopt if u have the share or if u don't:-

1. Do nothing & don't get involved in this sector
2. Hold & wait for rebound, then clear out
3. Buy b4 sector recovery
4. Wait for recovery then buy

Not necessarily this stock.

If u notice, now the mgt's boss is PNB so don't expect them to go against their wishes.
That's why u got the deep discount on the rights issue as they will wallup all & they have staying power unlike us.

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Oil & Gas Corp Bhd (UMW-OG) is bidding for 33 jobs worth a combined value of RM3.2bil.

The oil and gas services provider said on Monday of the total jobs being tendered for its jack-up rigs, 20 were based overseas and 13 were local jobs.

According to UMW-OG president Rohaizad Darus, the company would likely achieve a utilisation rate of around 90% in the coming years based on the number of jobs being tendered.

He noted that with the two contracts UMW-OG just secured from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd worth US$34.81mil or RM151.07mil to provide services to its firm and optional wells, the company would achieve a utilisation rate of 100% by the second half of 2017.
