According to data released by Bursa there hasn't been any short selling of Insas shares in the past two days but yet price fell.

Based on my experience with other SCRs.

Jonathan, don't worry. I am confident of SCR price of 95 sen minimum.

Remember this, after they make known the offer price it can still be revised upwards if they receive brickbats for offering too low.

CPO price has suddenly collapsed. I exited plantation around in September and haven't bought any because I suspect output will be down due to harvesting labour shortage. I have two O&G counters but I don't like Armada, I think its debts are high.

I want to spread my investment, can't put everything into Insas. I am hoping to exit Boustead after their privatisation announcement. Hopefully I could make 50% gain.

Got several candidates for possible privatisation but don't know when the major shareholders will make the move. You must have deep pocket and patience. My first success was MAA (made over 70% gain), second was TA Enterprise (30% gain) and this month FGV (only 10% gain).

Mr Sslee, what will be a good buy tomorrow? I need to re-invest my proceeds from the sale of my TA Enterprise and FGV shares

@ Jonathan, SCR minimum offer price has to be 95 sen because in the offer document they have to state that it is at a premium over the highest market price in the last 12 months. But RM1 would appear to be more appealing figure. If the RM1 offer price is not acceptable to the minority shareholders and they make noise about it then the offer price would be likely be revised upwards to RM1.10 because they don't want the privatisation to fail.

It's a SCR lah, LTAT not buying, go buy a copy of The Edge Weekly and read properly. In a SCR the minority shareholders vote whether to accept the selective capital repayment (SCR) which requires 75% yes votes. If the SCR is approved by the minorities Boustead will pay out to all shareholders except LTAT. Boustead will then be 100% owned by LTAT.

Once the announcement is made the market will trade at about 5% below the offer price. If the offer price is 80 sen, the market price will be around 76 Sen. If the offer price is RM4.50 ........ hahahaha.

Madam Leno, my company is in a dilemma, we bought 580,000 Insas at 0.65 and recently received a mere RM11,600 as dividend. Our problem is we are expanding our business, buying assets for our company. This leaves us with insufficient cash to take up our rights entitlement. What would be your advice. Our company thank you in advance.

Leno, will you take out that lame shortee?
2021-01-20 10:19 | Report Abuse

2021-01-19 22:11 | Report Abuse
4,000 RPS which comes with 10,000 free warrants. RPS will have separate quotation. 900 RPS plus 1,000 warrant can be converted into 1,000 ordinary shares of Insas at anytime

In RSS you can't short sell unless there's borrowed shares available and has been deposited with Bursar's Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL) Central Agency. In the case where Insas shares owners have purchased via margin and therefore pledged the shares to the broker/investment bank, the latter based on the margin agreement may have the right to lend Insas shares to the short sellers.

In Regulated Short Selling (RSS) there's an uptick rule where short sellers are not permitted to short sell at the buyers bid price, they would need to place their short sell bids above the buyers bid price and wait for buyers to buy off them. It would therefore make logical sense that after putting in their short sell bids they would promote that Insas is a good buy.

Ya, ya, ya, still before ex-rights date the lending banks/brokers would require the shares shorted be bought back or else how would the beneficiaries of the pledged shares get their rights entitlement.

Dear Insas comrades, I have done a bit of research on the short selling position of Insas (open position around 5 million at end of today). The lenders of the Insas shares to the short sellers will not be entitled to the rights issue (and free warrants) unless they request the shares loaned be returned to them before the ex-rights entitlement date. In order for the short sellers to return these 5 million shares they would have to buy back at whatever market price.

When you subscribe to 2 Insas-PR (not OR) you will get 5 free Insas warrants (not 10).

I am not clear on the rules of regulated short selling (RSS) but it seems that short sellers can keep on shorting so long as someone is willing to lend their shares. And the short sellers need not have to buy back to cover the short position unless the lender request bank the loaned shares. Any experts on RSS here?
Stock: [INSAS]: INSAS BHD

One of the possible reasons short selling has ceased is because the short sellers couldn't borrow any more Insas shares as the ex-rights entitlement date is approaching.
