All the time rights could be sold to anyone even in those days when hard copy of the Provisional Allotment Form had to be split into broad lots before selling. At that time excess rights application was only confined to existing shareholders but this restriction has since ceased.

SCR if approved by the minority shareholders is automatic privatisation. A minimum of 95 sen is proposed because Boustead 52 weeks high in price is 94 sen.

As at today, there is short selling position of 4,548,000 Insas shares which the short sellers have to cover (buy at whatever price to close off their short sell position). This short selling position is huge and about 50% of the short selling took place from 7/1 to 14/1 when Insas price was then trading at not more than 95 sen. This means if we Insas comrades collectively buy tomorrow, the short sellers would have to pay a very high price to square off their short sell position.

Wow, Lpc1225, you are right! Thanks for sharing this information which I didn't know existed.

LTAT definitely wants to privatise Boustead, they have even already obtained Bank Negara's approval (because Boustead has interest in Affin Bank). The delay is obtaining funding. But as a result of delay the market prices of some of Boustead's subsidiaries and associated companies have gone up significantly requiring the revision upwards of the earlier proposed offer price. CNY ang pow coming.

There's not much downside in Boustead's current price but there's big upside potential ....... 80 sen, 90 sen, RM1.

Someone said if we wait longer we might get Affin at RM1.20 or even 80 sen. I once bought 5,000 shares of Public Bank at 80 sen many, many years ago.

I have played MLab several times in the past two or three years, it is the penny counter in my portfolio. I have a diversified portfolio of shares in almost every category : Bank, Insurance, Oil & Gas, Construction, Steel (totally sold off), Plantation (totally sold off), cash rich companies, penny counters, companies under MGO or targeted for MGO.
2021-01-06 23:14 | Report Abuse
@PrinceofIpoh, I am not long-term in MLab. I think at 0.07/0.075 it's worth buying for 3 months time frame because downside is limited as future ESOS price has been fixed at 0.0725 and there's great upside once they goreng which they will. I think at the moment they don't want to reveal the substantial shareholder who controls MLab and hiding behind many nominee accounts. MLab after the rights issue has a lot of cash, who doesn't want to control MLab and control the millions of cash?

For the past two weeks short selling of Insas shares have capped its upside. Don't know what's the game plan of the short sellers. It has accumulated to over 5 million shares. In order to short sell someone has loaned the shares and earned interest from the lending. Who is this lender?
