DNEX has usually been very active in announcing MOUs. And every MOU signed leads to further decline in its share price. Now it has moved up without news. What does this say to you?

It is often difficult to be a contrarian. First u have to establish what is the consensus. This round the market has moved up with retailers consecutively selling. Therefore contrarian = bull market, consensus is sell in May go away

I hope we all make the most out of this bull market. It doesn't come everyday. One must have the humility not to be a contrarian when the market is uber bullish, right? 🤣

Apple supplier Foxconn among firms asked to cut power use in Vietnam: sources
21 May 2024 14:26
VIETNAMESE officials have called on Apple supplier Foxconn to voluntarily reduce power use by 30 per cent at its assembly plants in the north of the country where there were electricity outages last year, two sources familiar with the matter said.
The request for energy-saving measures, which two other industry sources said was sent to multiple manufacturers, is precautionary and aimed at averting a repeat of last summer when power shortage led to over a billion US dollars in lost output.
The request to Foxconn was "an encouragement", not a requirement and has not had any impact on production, one of the sources said.
Vietnam is increasingly welcoming multinational companies, some spreading their risk from traditional manufacturing base China amid rising trade tension with the US. Last month, Apple promised further spending in the country where over the past year it has raised its number of suppliers to 35 from 25.
The South-east Asian nation relies on foreign investment for economic growth and has been trying to attract energy-intensive industries, such as semiconductor manufacturing.
However, a heat wave last May and June triggered a power shortage that interrupted business in the north, causing US$1.4 billion worth of loss, or 0.3 per cent of gross domestic product, World Bank preliminary estimates showed.
In March, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pledged to foreign investors that power shortages would not happen again.
The government has asked coal-fired power plants to delay maintenance to meet higher electricity demand in the hottest months, one of the sources said.
The sources did not specify who sent the requests, when the request to Foxconn was sent or for how long the voluntary cut in electricity use would be needed. One source said the request was open-ended.
All sources asked to remain anonymous because the matter was not public. Apple did not respond to a request for comment.
Coordination
Foxconn, formally Hon Hai Precision Industry, is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer. It has half a dozen plants in northern Vietnam including in Bac Giang province where local authorities said it assembles Apple MacBooks and iPads.
State-owned provincial power distributor Bac Giang Power Company (BG PC) said in March it had asked industrial parks and authorities "to coordinate in implementing electricity savings", shown on the website of power regulator ERAV.
BG PC deputy director Do Binh Duong, in a separate statement, said: "Adjustment of power loads, adjustment of production plans and electricity saving implementation of enterprises will have a great impact on the power system".
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and state-owned power provider Vietnam Electricity, of which BG PC is a unit, did not respond to requests for comment.
Energy-saving measures appear to differ nationwide. An official at an industrial park in another northern province said manufacturers have been asked to reduce power consumption on some days this month.
Weather conditions are less challenging than in 2023 but authorities have boosted imports of coal and encouraged energy-saving to avoid shortages.
In March, foreign chambers of commerce urged the government to guarantee power supply, with South Korean's KoCham saying semiconductor companies had delayed investment decisions because of power supply risk.

At present best case is broader market remains bullish, everything else go up and then people come and buy the pitiful laggard 🤣

If one counts on individual counter specific events...this insas quite hopeless la

DNEX has at least 3 major news events pending. Can go either way, can drag on indefinitely. Up to u bro

@liew if you are not an active trader and believe in DNEX, buy la. 1+.4+.4 = 0.6 average then u can lock up and continue waiting indefinitely 😂

Hard to tell what's DNEX's game plan. Are they selling or buying now? 40cents is the battle ground. Washed down picked up, picked up washed down. It could well go either way

Ali Baby is carrying a huge loss on its Singpost investment. As is Foxconn in DNEX. Ninja Van...
None of these subsidiaries, or associates or minority stakes do well for the holding co's share price.
Think Wilmar, Genting. Even MMC which was privatised.
So I think no difference. I mean...it is holding >1B cash + Inari and trading at 700M, this in itself is enough if it doesnt move it closer to NAV what else could. Sad case.

Year 1 for me. And I am not sure it is a good idea 🤣

MMC was taken at $2.00 and the market allowed it. In fact was ecstatic over it. Recall how he flushed it down to below $1.00 immediately preceding the buy out offer

I think KSL could have succeeded at $1, $1.20, $1.40 many times over the years. They didnt.
If Thong thinks the same way, whatever that state of mind is, he isn't going to do it even as low as $1.50. Happy to stay listed

It tis. Disguised as a good stock becauuse of very strong fundamentals. Water fish like myself hoping for that surge as is ncessary for distribution. Remind us to sell then 😂

And Thong isn't even willing to trigger MGO at 1.30 1.40 1.50 1.60.

1,095,526,000. That's 95.526M more than a billion, which is around 14.5cents a share. Mind boggling.

@TheContrarian maybe still got hope. Low volume so it takes longer to churn so that chart has to extend for longer horizontally. It is the most unusual case for a fundamentally strong stock to explode this way and then just die down. Consolation it didnt really break below that 61.8% thing and has now bounced back. Mildly.

What if Insas does what it always does...invest and take a minority stake in something to do w data centre. Finish their cash on a minority stake. If they do that...I will follow MrSslee Bye Bye.
2 months ago | Report Abuse
Insas share price wise, is such a sad case. Well, it will remain sad until it's not 😂

Maybe @MrSslee can make similar proposals for Insas in upcoming AGM

Were you all live to see the warrants move? There's a shifting huge seller queue as it moved up. When buyer bought out the 25-25.5c, the 26c SQ was 3M shares (30000 board lots). Then it shifted. Last Friday same.
I dont know what this means but obviously its function is to discourage buyers. So hopefully this means finally "they" are accumulating again. I have enough, tired of the low stagnant price. A bit of action is good lol

Unfortunate, because this one is an underperformer. Funded Insas with my MYEG sale, terrible choice. Speculated on Sendai made a little bit and then also channeled to Insas transferring the profits over thinking I am lowering my average to circa 90c. But look at Sendai today. Well. Well. Just have to swallow it. A series of silly mistakes shouldn't have started Insas lol

Mother share end Mar sold, mid Apr bought back and kept buying
WC kept buying down and controlled exposure
No intention to liquidate yet
WC at 22-23c was 1.13. Couldnt resist. It may be worthless, but I will just take it as having bought Insas at 1.13 by mistake and held for 2 years 😂
