One principle I learned in investing in stocks market that teaches me to be wise . I discouraged people's with the ideology buying stocks to keep for long termed investment when the overall markets have almost reached its peak and same time when every crooked and corners of penny stocks begin to perform regardless of its underlying fundermentals . I lost nearly 800 thousands in 1997 stocks market crashed within a very short time frame . The stocks that kept for long termed investment suffer 90 % losses bit by bit caught you really unaware and if it happens to falls steeply , l should have preferred to cut losses . This is part of my personal sharing and hope did not meant to discourage one idea and opinions . Invest with your own risks . Thnks !

I dont know what are those solid reasons behind for not amortising the Biological Assets. It doesn‘t get along with matching concept in accounting principle. Some accounting principle has turned into accounting rojak to suit the morden creative accounting. what a joke!

Sostupid. No time to do research and monitor. The best is to invest in FMCG companies Dlady, F&N and Nestle in enjoying its moderate sustainable long term growth. If you don't like blue chips, You may consider some coma counters with higher potential i.e Kawan, Yspsah, SAM, MSM.

WTK's accounting policy on Biological Assets is really too aggressive. No armotization on the Biological Assets. Of course, WTK is not alone. There are some plantation companies are adopting this policy, ie TSH, INNO, Jtiasa, Ummca and NPC.

Accounting policy of WTK :

Plantation expenditure incurred on land clearing, upkeep of immature oil palms, administrative expenses
and interest incurred during the pre-cropping period are capitalised under biological assets and " are 
not amortised. "

Upon maturity, all subsequent maintenance expenditure is charged to the statement of
comprehensive income. " Replanting expenditure incurred on similar crops on formerly developed areas is
 chargeable to the profit or loss in the financial year in which it is incurred."

Investors don't really like right issues given the current weak market sentiments. People are welcome corporate activities such as share split, bonus issues, free warrant and bumper dividends. LTAT was running for life, not to mention retail investors.

It may take at least 7 years for the young trees to grow into mature stage for peak harvesting period. Currently, WTK has started harvested FFB 43mt per year. The volume of FFB harvested will grow year by year until peak at about 240 mt per year . It should be ok if you are a long term investor.

WTK is a well managed company with nil borrowings. It has never suffering any losses since year 2010. Profit is solely contributed by Timber segment. But the performance was dragged down by plantation segment.... RM 285.5 million was invested in Biological assets for 11,800 hec land and costs RM 24,500 per hec. It's rather high while comparing with TAAN of RM 8,300 per hec.

Guessing time. Mixed feelings in coming QR by looking at its Revenue. Will it grow another 10% in revenue?

It looks like mall retailing slowly becoming a sunset industry. Aeon, Parkson, Tstore are facing a very challenging future. Don't under estimate the potential of E-commerce trend. In the near future, people may be able get price and place an order of a product on internet instantly while doing window shopping.

Dont be too choosy la. A lot of opporturnity in certain growth counters and not overvalued. Expect more in the next 6 months when their new plants or new factory start kicking in.
