KUALA LUMPUR (June 18): AllianceDBS Research said Green Packet Bhd (GPacket) had on June 17 traded higher to 73.5 sen before closing at 71 sen (up 3 sen or 4.41%).
In its evening edition June 17, the research house said GPacket crossed above 50-day MA line on June 17 to stay between the 20-day (blue) & 50-day MA line (red) after spending 3 days below the same 2 MA lines.
It said following the up close on June 17, the stock is likely to move higher with immediate hurdle at 75.5 sen.
“A crossover of 75.5 sen should see further price rise to the next overhead resistance zone, 80 sen – 82 sen.
“The support is pegged at 64.5 sen. A fall below 64.5 sen would put pressure on the stock down to the subsequent support at 60 sen,” it said.
AllianceDBS Research said stock volume traded on June 17 was 177.4 million shares compared to the 3-month average volume of 299.4 million shares.

Deferment of KL-Singapore HSR project extended to Dec 31, 2020
KUALA LUMPUR (May 31): The Malaysian and Singaporean governments have agreed to resume discussions on the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) infrastructure project in the near future, said Senior Minister cum International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
In a statement today, he said the discussions would encompass some of the proposed changes in the commercial and technical aspects of the project.
Mohamed Azmin said this decision was arrived at after both sides had mutually agreed to extend the deferment of the KL-Singapore HSR project to Dec 31, 2020.
“I have been asked by the Cabinet to lead the Malaysian team in the discussions with the Singapore government on this project,” he added.
Previously on Sept 5, 2018, both governments had agreed to suspend the construction of the bilateral project until May 31, 2020 to find the best way forward for the project.
The Malaysian government has been reviewing the project with MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd to identify cost reduction options, such as reviewing and optimising the alignment, station locations and business model.
In its response, Singapore's Transport Ministry confirmed that the Malaysian government has informed the republic that it would like to propose some changes to the HSR project and has requested a seven-month extension to allow both sides to discuss Malaysia’s proposal.
In the spirit of bilateral cooperation, the ministry said Singapore has agreed to a "final extension" of the HSR project suspension by seven months to Dec 31, 2020.
"We look forward to receiving Malaysia’s formal proposal on the changes to the HSR project soon, so that both sides can begin discussions immediately," it said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the republic's Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan said the extension should provide sufficient time for Malaysia to clarify its proposal and for both sides to assess the implications of the proposed changes.
"Covid-19 pandemic does inconvenience the discussions but tele-conferencing can largely overcome the difficulty. The key is joint commitment to the project’s vision and mutual trust.
"Nevertheless, the HSR is a complex project, and both sides have to be convinced that the changes do not undermine the original intent of the project.

Asymptomatic Covid-19 positive individuals don't have potential to infect others — health DG
PUTRAJAYA (May 31): Covid-19 positive individuals who are asymptomatic do not have the potential to infect others because they have a low “virus load” compared to those who are symptomatic, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He, however, said infectivity could occur two days before the affected individual showed symptoms.
“So, we need to differentiate that the ones without symptoms do not have any problems as there’s no infectivity. But we found that those with symptoms and two days before having those symptoms they could infect others,” he said at the daily press conference on Covid-19 today.
He said that the first week of being symptomatic was when the virus was active enough to infect others, but if the individual was isolated for between eight and 10 days, or 14 days as is being done by the government now, the infectivity rate can be reduced to almost zero.
“As for those who are asymptomatic, perhaps they won’t be able to infect others within 14 days. But infection can happen two days before the symptomatic period. So, if we can isolate them we can break the Covid-19 chain of transmission,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said that tomorrow the Ministry of Health (MOH) would share its model regarding the projection for Covid-19 cases in the last one month, today and in the future.
“So for cases involving Malaysians, we found there was adherence to standard operating procedure (SOP) and when we comply with the SOP, it means the R-nought (RO) is less than 0.3%. (RO refers to the infectivity rate).
“But for non-Malaysians, if we minus the immigration detention depot and import cases, we find the RO is still about 0.3% and we are still monitoring daily the development among Malaysians and non-Malaysians,” he said.
He said what was important was for the MOH to focus on non-Malaysians so that they too complied with the SOP.
However, he said several constraints needed to be focused on, such as accommodation and environment of the foreigners, while employers also needed to play their role in ensuring the foreign workers complied with government directives as well as to take preventive measures and maintain cleanliness.
