The Group’s revenue and PBT for 3Q21 increased by 33% and 4.0 times respectively as compared to 3Q20. The higher revenue and PBT mainly due to the revenue growth in ERP and IoT segments and increase of negative goodwill of RM21.2 million arised from acquisition of a subsidiary.
For the 9M21 under review, the Group’s revenue and PBT increased by 18% and 2.4 times respectively as compared to 9M20. The higher revenue was mainly due to contribution from ERP and IoT segments of RM120.3 million and RM53.3 million respectively. The higher PBT was mainly due to the negative goodwill of RM33.9 million arised from acquisition of subsidiaries.

KUALA LUMPUR: Kobay Technology Bhd is undertaking a private placement of up to 10 per cent of its issued shares to raise up to RM153.14 million, at an illustrative issue price of RM5.00 per share.

In an exchange filing today, Kobay said the gross proceeds are expected to be utilised to set up new aluminium products manufacturing plant (RM60 million), partial repayment of bank borrowings (RM50 million) and working capital for the group's manufacturing division (of up to RM42.7 million).

They claimed they were an IoT company, but they were not. They just sold ERP solutions and cloud cosec. I think they wanted to be a real IoT company. To become an IoT company, they needed fund raising.
