Smartag is starting it's business on containers in a few days time & that's when money keeps rolling in as all containers that passes through the whole Malaysia Customs Department checkpoint have TO COMPULSORY USE SMARTAG.....imagine a total of 500,000 containers using Smartag RFID at a price of $10 per container per day for the 1st year......2nd year Smartag had to cover 800,000 containers & thereafter there's whopping 7 million containers to consider for those in the Import & Export industry.

Remember, Smartag start it's RFID business on containers on the 1st June 2012.....5 days from now.....so go get yours now before any price increase.

latest TP for MAS from OSK is $1.38 cents...now read on..

MAS' 1Q core losses exceeded our and consensus full-year forecasts. We consequently raise our loss forecast for FY12 and the carrier is now only expected to post a decent EBITDA by FY13. On a positive note, yields and unit CASK (Cost/ASK) are turning favourable for MAS and more importantly, funding for its RM6bn fleet expansion is close to being resolved, which should boost sentiment on the stock. We upgrade MAS to a TRADING BUY with a higher FV of RM1.38 that is premised on 7.5x FY14 EV/EBITDA.

Losses narrowing.Stripping out the forex, disposal gains and other exceptional items (totaling RM233m), MAS' 1Q net loss came in at RM405m on the back of RM3.108bn in revenue. The losses far exceed both our and consensus full-year estimates, no thanks to the higher-than-expected fuel and aircraft leasing expenses despite revenue being in line. Nonetheless, losses have narrowed by 58% q-o-q and only higher by 6.3% y-o-y, due to the lower fuel consumption following capacity cuts (by 7.7% y-o-y and 8.2% q-oq). This was despite jet fuel price per barrel inching up by 13% over the period.

Unit yields and costs turning positive. MAS managed to boost yields y-o-y by 12.5% to 27.1 sen/RPK after trimming its unprofitable routes to focus on the high-yielding ones, notably its Kangaroo routes and improved front-end cabin take-up amid the withdrawal of some AirAsia X long-haul flights. The reduction in capacity has also improved yields from the cargo side. MAS was wise to focus on boosting yields (hence higher ticket prices) instead of competing head on with AirAsia for both domestic and international routes. The sequential decline in yields by 6% q-o-q can be attributed to seasonality. While yields are up, cost remains stubbornly high as MAS' CASK of 27.7 sen continued to inch higher by 5.4% y-o-y which is higher than SIA's quantum of 3.3% (9.4 cents). MAS' high costs structure remains a concern given its high breakeven load factor of 102% (an improvement from last year's 109%) and there is still plenty of room for cost structure improvement with the delivery of brand new aircrafts which ultimately will improve fuel burn mileage given the younger fleet age.

Capex resolved. We were previously concerned over how MAS will finance its RM6bn worth of capex for its fleet of aircraft deliveries in 2012 (which amount to 23 aircraft comprising 13 737-8s, 5 A330s and 5 A380s) to enhance the fleet age to 7.7 years from the current age of 12.2 years, after potentially returning 34 old aircrafts to its lessors by the end of this year. We understand only 1 aircraft was returned in 1Q so far given the issue of capex standstill. However, after MAS announced its 3 pillars of financing in the near term, we do not see the delivery of new aircrafts being an issue although this might be delayed a few months to 1H2013. A young fleet age will be favourable towards improving fuel efficiency and yields, and ultimately boosting MAS' profitability.

Normally if EPF buys you follow & buy & what more with 4 big funds now buying & buying.....so shouldn't you be wise & sensible too?

All indications are too the upside & practically no down slide.

Asrul touched by M'kini readers, CM offers help

Malaysiakini readers and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng are touched by Asrul's courage and determination to continue fighting for a clean and fair election.

The Bersih participant - Asrul Wadi Ahmad - who may be permanently blind from being hit by a tear-gas canister during the Apr 28 protest, is overcome by gratitude at the overwhelming support Malaysians have shown him in his hour of need.

NONEAsrul, 26, (left) says the kindness and support that the public has shown will motivate him to continue with the struggle for a better Malaysia.

"A million thanks to everyone for their caring and contribution from all Malaysians, regardless of race and religion," he told Malaysiakini.

"What I really hope for is that we all continue to rise up and fight together for the future of our country and for a Malaysia which could be much, much better," he added.

Asrul is also touched that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had asked to see him yesterday, with two meeting at the latter's office on the 28th floor of Komtar, the state government's administrative centre.

Asrul said during the 20-minute meeting. Lim had said he would help the youth who hails from Kepala Batas secure a job.

"I am thankful that he was willing to meet me and my family is also very touched that he has offered to help me resolve some of my problems," he said.

‘Courage and conviction'

Asrul, who newly graduated as a mechanical engineer, lost his job in a well-known manufacturing company in Penang, after his eyes was seriously injured when a tear-gas canister shot directly into the crowd, hit him.

NONEAsrul, who was around the Masjid Jamek area with his family, collapsed in pain, bleeding profusely from his right eye.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital by concerned members of the public.

Asrul shared his plight at a press conference with human rights NGO Suaram in Penang on Thursday.

Malaysiakini readers were touched by his "courage and conviction" to continue fighting for the cause despite his injury that they have offered to help him financially.

During the press event, Asrul said youths have a responsibility to ensure that their country remains democratic.

He vowed never to give up his struggle despite his impending blindness, saying that he was prepared to participate in Bersih 4.0, if the rally was organised.

CM impressed with Asrul's resoluteness

Meanwhile, Lim when contacted confirmed the meeting and said he would try his best to help Asrul, who has shown great "courage and determination" in the face of much adversity.

Suaram board member, Ong Jing Cheng said he was happy to hear that the public was so supportive of Bersih's struggles and responded immediately with much kindness at the plight of the group's participant.

"It really shows how much support Malaysians have and how much they desire clean and fair elections," he added.

Medical doctor, Dr Khim Pa, who has been helping Asrul with his current condition said that Bersih has been helping him out with hospital fees, and the latter has met four doctors.

Dr Pa, who is actively involved in Penang's NGO network called Sembang-Sembang, said if Asrul's condition does not improve in six months, he may be certified "legally blind".

"The doctors have advised him to rest for now," he added. He also said that if he were find employment, the job must suit his condition.

For those who wish to contribute to Asrul's medical expenses, his bank account number is: MBB 157410057121, under the name Asrul Wadi Bin Ahmad.

Just read this on WCT......

WCT (WCT MK, Buy, TP: RM3.20) plans to add two more shopping malls to its portfolio to create a steady stream income to the group. WCT's maiden retail project, AEON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre, was opened in Klang in 2007 and is currently leased to retailer AEON Co Bhd while its second, the Paradigm Mall, was launched yesterday. ED Choe Kai Keong said WCT's third mall, at KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) integrated complex, was targeted to be opened by April 2013. "We will be managing the 350,000 sf shopping mall ourselves. Meanwhile, the fourth mall will be part of a 60-acre mixed development in Overseas Union Garden (OUG) with an expected total GDV of RM4bn. We are in the midst of acquiring the land now", he said. (StarBiz)

Comment: According to the management, the OUG mixed development would be 60% residential and 40% commercial, and will be developed progressively over a period of 8 years. The fourth mall to be built in that area will also carry the Paradigm brand name. In addition, WCT plans to build and operate a third Premiere Hotel in that area. The other 2 Premiere hotels are at Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1, Klang and the Paradigm development in Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya (currently under construction). As the acquisition of the OUG landbank is subject to shareholder approval at an upcoming EGM to be held sometime later this year, we have not yet factored any earnings contribution from the mall and the rest of the OUG development. If all goes as planned, the first launch at the OUG development is expected to happen in January 2014.
