Contra is risky. Much depends on timing. If u r in in mid upswing then you exit with a smile. Too early then u have to hold afeww days to weeks or even months.. if u enterTail end then you may be stuck indefinitely.

I am clueless when it comes to anallysis. But what invest88 says makes sense to me. Watch tomorrow. Trade with caution

Here is what I learned:
"actually when you see ipo which gives private placement,that means they got cheap shares already- pre-issue to suppliers and relatives one. If u dont believe,check back those ipo like cap,Leonfb,HHH etc........opening price all koyak.
After they throw all "cheap" shares then only slowly rise, but if too many private shares then stock px will permanent paralyse like HHH,cap.
As an example, AAX may have 100 mil shares prior to listing.
They then issue 5:1 rights at rm 1 each and bonus of 5:1.
If you have 10,000 shares, you need to just pay 50K and receive 50,000 new shares plus 50,000 bonus shares.
Your actual cost per new share is 50 sen.
50,000 of the new shares will then be offered to the public (IPO) at 1.25.
10,000 may be offered as private placements at 1.10 to some Tan Sri or Dato.
40,000 you keep for your wife, mistress, girlfriend, children, grandchildren, dog and cat.

Some companies are too greedy, they issue too many shares or their IPO price is too high.
Good examples are Facebook, FGV, Astro and AAX.
In the earlier days, the IPO price is regulated by SEC, and based on PE ratio.
Today, companies are not obliged to give projected revenue and profit,
and price their IPO based on advice from Investment Bank.

So most if not all IPOs are fully valued by the time they are issued.
The only people truly making money is Tony Fernandez and his initial shareholders."

V88 granted that experienced traders/investors like your goodself know T3/T4 /T7 days. However I believe there is a sizeable number of newbie traders who will be easily swayed by averse comments and may be driven to "panic sell"; that is what I meant.
