Please do not have sympathy for them as they do not and will not sympathise you. You can press on them to invoke Rule 4.15 of the Takeover code in relation to the share buy back scheme but I doubt there will be any positive outcome from this. DST and his PAC are very well versed with corporate actions. If they are sincere, they would have done it. They will just give the usual blah blah blah.....

homework is right...but not updated..why not look at the 2013 annual report? Dont just look at the numbers...different industries has different benchmark....

BNM is revising their dividend guideline for the finance industry and they ask them to just hold on. They are loaded with cash after the sale of balik pulau land. If the sale of insurance arm goes through, they will be having reserves of about 600mil -1 billion cash. They are transforming into property players. They have lots of valuable land banks in and around the city and they do not want to just sell the land banks. They want to have a share of the sales revenue from developing it (hence the JVs) as it could worth easily 2 folds or more. As you can see, they have solid plans in the pipeline and not just pump and dump kind of company. With Tan Sri Surin and KLK bosses holding big chunks, I'm quite sure they want maximum value for it.

as previous post, 2nd quarter result will be great due to balik pulau land sale revenue recognition. it is just a matter of time dividend will be given. maybe the land sale revenue will be distributed as dividend as well. Their long term plan is to become a developer/property megahouse. They are also in talk with pavillion Desmond Lim for redevelopment of Flamingo ampang property as stated in the edge. Very steady growth under good management. If land sale not distributed, cash balance will be close to 1 billion after sales of insurance arm.

@Wongkok- they cant put put much detail as it is ongoing court case. Wont lose anything because they are trying to get back things robbed from them
KKteng- they are going into developing/ property.. Huge valuable land bank around.

They are selling Ampang Land + Hotel (BV at 73 mil) to Desmond Lim of Pavillion for 500 mil.. (The edge today) .. They will have cash in excess of 1 Bil.. from sale of insurance, barat daya and flamingo... something big is brewing.... Pretty sure handsome dividend is coming for ST...

@Wongkok - nope. but understandably they are at the last phase... plus they wanna get rid of it asap. with the regulation around finance companies, lots of regulations to abide by and will hinder their expansion as property player.. eg : delayed of proposed dividend..

good stable growth company... why worry? plus dividend slowly increasing.. LED business getting bigger. Every one is changing to LED lights including highway lights. Plus not that many shares floating... very easy to climb everest.....

Long term even bigger value. Land in bukit bintang(together with club de vegas land) humongous value. Coupled with land bank in johor, rawang, gombak and penang.......

Attended AGM. Changing into developer from insurance business. Second quarter profit will be really good due to recognition of land sale in barat daya. Selling of insurance business will be completed soon. Dividend cancellation due to waiting for BNM new guideline coming out in July. With the investment income from barat daya, one off huge dividend payout looks very possible. ST lots of value.
