Sabah, the second-worst-hit state, logged 229 cases, while Johor has 102 cases, said Dr Noor Hisham.

The Klang Valley, comprising Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, reported 334 cases, representing 39.2% of today's new cases.Of this total, Dr Noor Hisham said Selangor contributed 249 cases, while Kuala Lumpur recorded 85 cases.

MoHR pointed out that the main offence by the Top Glove group was its failure to apply for an accommodation certificate from the director-general of the Department of Labour of Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM) under Section 24D of the act, which led to the discovery of other offences, including dense, uncomfortable accommodation and lack of proper ventilation.Moreover, the buildings used as accommodation for workers did not adhere to local authority laws.

Ismail Sabri said police detained 741 individuals for violating the standard operating procedures of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) yesterday, and from that total, 720 individuals were issued compounds and the rest were remanded.

Workers who test positive using the RTK-Ag test and have mild symptoms will be placed in the quarantine and treatment centre prepared by their employers.All patients who are discharged must wear monitoring wristbands that will be of a different colour from home surveillance order wristbands

Ismail Sabri added that workers who are positive on the RTK-Ag test and have serious symptoms will be admitted to hospital while workers confirmed positive through the RT-PCR test would have the option of being placed immediately at the quarantine and treatment centre prepared by the employer or admitted to hospital.

If a worker tests positive using the Antigen rapid test kit (RTK-Ag) and has no symptoms, the worker can be placed in the workers’ dormitory prepared by employers as long as he is isolated from workers who tested negative using the RTK-Ag,” he said at the daily Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) briefing today.He said if the dormitory conditions were unsuitable, the worker would need to be placed in the low-risk Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre prepared by the employer.

The Teratai cluster was first reported by the ministry on Nov 7, with the index or the first case found positive on Nov 2 following symptomatic screening.Malaysia reported 1,212 new Covid-19 cases today, lifting its tally of infections to 65,697.

There are now 2,693 active cases that carry high transmission risks under this cluster, while 1,585 patients have recovered, with no deaths reported so far.Earlier today, Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the two-week Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) imposed on Top Glove's worker dormitories, which was scheduled to end today, has been extended until Dec 14.

The companies involved will have to prepare the necessary quarantine stations and Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment centres.The companies will have to bear the costs of managing the stations and centres, as well as worker’s food and board. Employers will have to prepare transport to ferry the workers from the stations and centres and also bear the cost of the employees’ Covid-19 screenings.

Beginning tomorrow, employers will have to conduct Covid-19 screening tests for foreign workers at several factories identified by the Human Resource Ministry, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.For a start, the tests will focus only on high-risk areas in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sabah and Labuan.

Mandatory Covid-19 screenings for foreign workers start tomorrow

In total, 362 clusters have been reported by the MoH so far. Meanwhile, five clusters were declared ended today as no new cases were reported in 28 days.These included the Sofi cluster in Negeri Sembilan, the Tapah Prison cluster in Perak, the Kapor cluster in Sabah, the Jambu cluster in Selangor, and Meldrum cluster in Johor.

Three new clusters detected today
Dr Noor Hisham also announced three new Covid-19 clusters today with 54 total infections.
The three new clusters:
• Jalan Lapan cluster involving Hulu Langat in Selangor as well as Cheras, Kepong, Titiwangsa and Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur (25 cases)
• Batu Sembilan cluster which spans Kuala Langat, Klang, Petaling and Kuala Selangor in Selangor (19 cases)
• Nibong cluster in Johor Bahru, Johor (10 cases)

Tembok cluster in Kedah has 23 cases, while the Seberang Perai Prison cluster has one case.
As the number of recoveries surpassed new cases at 2,112, the tally of active cases fell to 10,578. Total recoveries, meanwhile, stood at 54,759.

Selangor topped the list of most Covid-19 cases with 402, where 308 (76.6%) of them came from the existing and new Covid-19 clusters and screening of close contacts of Covid-19 positive patients, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at a media briefing today.

Sabah was the second-worst hit state, with 326 new cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 119 cases.

Dr Noor Hisham said 101 cases were confirmed from the Covid-19-related prison clusters. Of these, four clusters were in Sabah, namely the PTS Sibuga cluster with 65 cases, the PTS Tawau cluster with eight cases, the Matambai cluster with three cases, and the Sandakan prison cluster with one case.

Three new deaths related to the pandemic were reported in Kedah, Labuan and Sabah. These brought the nationwide death toll to 360. The deceased were three men aged between 22 and 66 years, who had health complications such as low immunity, high blood pressure, gout and chronic kidney disease.
