ISTANBUL - Turkey recorded 14,941 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, health ministry data showed on Friday, the highest daily rise this year, less than two weeks after President Tayyip Erdogan announced an easing of curbs.

The daily tally has roughly doubled from a month ago, a rise authorities have blamed on new variants of the coronavirus.

Erdogan announced a partial opening of schools, cafes and restaurants last week. Turkey also eased weekend lockdowns, after the number of new cases fell below 10,000 daily.

@linheng For the Supermax stock holders. Think you should just sit tight with your stocks. The Company did some buyback in Jan 2021 at above $6.
Those buy back shares were not kept as treasury shares but were cancelled. So the drop in buyback cost will not be reflected in the Accounts, but in fact is positive as the no of shares is decreased.
Ask your self this few questions
1. Who is putting up big sell bids ( Up to 800+K sell and 700K+ buy at a difference of 1 cent. Click on the trade details. Done at multiples of 100 shares -almost always less than 5K shares.
2. Why is the company and the major shareholder not doing any buyback even at this depressed price?
3. Company is building factory in US, Company building big HQ at Klang.

My guess is that the major shareholder is smart and knows from observing Tan Sri Lim of TopGlove, that its very hard to fight Negative Perception and the weapons at the disposal of the IBs.
So he is probably just accumulating quietly using nominees.
The company were probably be privatized at some stage and the listing
will be done overseas.

Malakoff Corporation Bhd (Trading Buy)
• MALAKOF is an independent power and water producer whose core businesses include power generation, water desalination, operations & maintenance and waste management and environmental services.

• The Group has reportedly submitted its bid for the government’s fourth large-scale solar programme (LSS4) which consists of various packages of solar energy generation capacity (totalling 1,000MW) worth RM4b.

• After posting net earnings (from continuing operations) of RM286.6m (+4% YoY) in FY Dec 20, consensus is projecting MALAKOF’s bottomline to come in at RM326m in FY21 and RM343m in FY22. This translates to forward PERs of 13.0x this year and 12.3x next year, respectively (which are between -2SD and -1SD below its historical mean).

• An added positive is its attractive dividend yields of 6.9%-7.3% based on consensus DPS forecasts of 6.0 sen for FY21 and 6.3 sen for FY22.
