hello newbies, 27 March they will receive final bids from closed to 10 potential buyers for their leasing unit. It will be at least USD1 billion. Airasia is likely to pay out huge dividend. CIMB says as much as RM1.12 per share.

I believe call warrants buy sell queue is automated. Few months ago, the Airasia call warrants I held got no buy no sell bids, I called up IB to speak to the person in charge, she said "oops" , and the bids surfaced shortly. I think she must have forgotten to switch on the system

For example, Maybank fund management department might have lend their Airasia shares to somebody (in return for a fee). That is why the IB can issue a put warrant to try to make some money through spread, etc

Everytime I heard people said IB is going to push down mother share price when call warrants near expiry, I laugh

IB has hedged their position, they don't need to manipulate mother share price to protect their CW position

(For example, long mother shares as what Hippo said)

Salam, I don't have answers to your question lah. I no IB. But one thing I am sure is that IB don't gamble. They always hedge their positions (otherwise BNM will chop off their head)

The market making thingy is something I read from listing circular (if I remember correctly)

Hippo, if I understand it correctly, Call and Put warrants are issued through market making mechanism. The IB is required to act as Buyer and Seller at the same time (so as to provide liquidity). Whenever mother share price moves, the software will calculate and make the buy and sell queue automatically. IB cannot keep the Put Warrants at 12 sen (current price) when Airasia spikes to lets say RM3.50. The software will adjust the bidding price downwards accordingly. (for example : buy queue at 3 sen, sell queue at 4 sen)

Not sure whether my understanding is correct. Feedback welcomed
