if u r a vet investor as u claim urself to be, then, u r a failed investor for not being able to think deeply enough to see all the pros and cons for a company.

u have alrdy committed the first mistake of any investor, and that is to fall in love with ur stock/position.

when the major producers of drives such as wd/seagate/fujitsu/toshiba shift fully to the production of ssd in the next few yr, maybe 2-3yrs, this will drive down the scale of economics and production costs will be on par or even lower than hdd. so by the time, the developing country who may successfully moved up the next ladder, the cost and producing structure will change again.

do u think this is the way ahead for a tech company who is not moving in tune with the market???

so what is the future for such a company if it depends on a market that is shrinking??? even if it ends up holding a monopoly on supplying hdd in a low margin market, is it going to survive in the long run????

let me give u a simple example:

factors r ssd/hdd cost ratio is 5/1 and the developed/developing market ratio is 1/5, so i need to sell 1 ssd for every 5 hdd in perfect conditions of no distribution costs etc to break even between them. but the distribution costs for developing country is of cos higher than developed country among other costs, thus my margin as a producer is lower from a developing country. in the end, under my scenario, which market makes the higher margin assuming the volume of 1/5???? of cos, it is the developed market that gives me my higher margin.

now, secondly, for a developing country such as cambodia, laos, nigeria, kenya or mymmar, what is the purchasing volume like for tech gears???? for the few rich, they will take the highest end spec, even higher end than the average consumer in a developed country. for the still small middle class, they will buy a much lower end spec while the majority lower class will be busy trying to survive, let alone buying a tech gear.

so the demand for a middle of middle range tech gear in a developing country is very low.

so a tech product producer, who do u cater for??? of cos for the those who can afford the gears. and who r such consumers??? the developed market and the small but rich segment of a developing market.

how big and the margin of such a shrinking segment of the developing????

i dont think i m that good to write a critique on stocks, calling for a buy or sell as calvin assumed himself to be.

what i m competent at is asking pointed questions and pointing out inconsistencies in a stock if any, whether the pov is for or against.

to me, it is a good way to evaluate whether a stock is a good buy or sell, what r the ups/downs and what r the risks by asking,listening and analyzing.

using bjc as an example, when i asked calvin whether the high financial leverage and low roa will impact negatively on bjc, he is unable to answer me such a basic question. so thats when i know bjc is not a buy at this level.

but calvin, being calvin, cannot take any tough questionings. thats why he broke down and diverted from promoting bjc.

i believe many do find it informative when someone ask tough questions and form their own povs on a stock.

When a company's result is improving that means they have done something which we don't know... the co. knows about their industry n how to tackle their problem..

but as u said, vt controls the price. so unless u willing to play with him, it will be a patient game for sure. but fruitful or not in the end, i dont know.
