Research findings must be able to stand scrutiny and testing. Criticism in another way is to test your hypothesis and you should be able to defend you theory.
I am not a researcher. You and me may find so called research findings are way out of real life scenario. Please check with https://my.news.yahoo.com/does-mean-middle-class-malaysia-222800802.html

Who are the worst hit?
Worker with 1k salary?
Worker wih 5k salary?
Worker with 10k salary?
Worker with 20k salary?
Worker with 50k salary?
All are nonsense!
Your so called "research findings" all rubbish!

Victims suffered most because of GST are:
Old men who are no more working but depend on children's support.
Those retired and surviving with EPF money.
Old retired government pensioner.
Please take note the "income" of these people won't grow, unlike those who are still working.
For the workers, employers must see that their workers earn enough to survive. This will start another vicious cycle of inflation.

Are you sure middle-class income is defined by any authority? By your definition, middle-class income will never buy you middle-class lifestyle.

For one to have Middle-class lifestyle, he should be able to get married. The family can have at least two children. The wife may stay home to mind the kids and not facing financial hardship. Family should able to get a decent dwelling, be it an apartment or a house (note: not low cost flat). Decent mode of transport. Having decent food and recreation. Able to send children to kindergarten/ tuition without have to think twice.

With the amount of income as defined in your "research", I doubt your middle-class income group is able to live a middle-class income lifestyle. If cannot, meaning that they are not in the middle-class income category.

More realistic figure will be:
For towns like Ipoh, Alor Star, Seremban, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kota Baru, Kuantan
Single income - 8k per month. Double income - 10k per month
For KL, Klang Valley, Penang Island, JB, KK
Single income - 10k per month. Double income - 12k per month

Quote: 7) Our research shows that proportion of income paid as GST for:
a. Lowest income households (earning RM 605 per month) is 1.71%
b. Middle income households (earning RM 2,580 per month) is 2.01%
c. Highest income households (earning RM 31,850 per month) is 0.96%

How accurate is your research?
Don't talk about tax reduction , BR1M etc, Budget stated GST itself amount to 29B annualized for 2015. This works out to be 1000 per citizen, including the new born.
I really doubt the integrity of your research. Please note, fail one fail all!

Fund managers are different from so called analysts.
Fund managers make more if their portfolio outperform the market. They don't make recommendation to buy or to sell.
So called analysts make money by soliciting and make fancy recommendation to retail investors. By the time their reports are out, it is the time fund managers start to unload.
I noticed many so called analysts are so unprofessional that they recommend a sell, then they saw the counter went up by 50%, they quickly change stand with a buy call, all within a short period of two months.
Don't ever trust an analyst!

What happen if Mega Steel still cannot pay after the 12-month moratorium? Ask for extension again, then again and again until Mega Steel folds up.
Be clever a bit TNB, ask MegaSteel to pay advance (prepaid) before you supply lah electricity.

A lot of questions to ask:-

1. When is this portfolio established?
2. Is there any restriction/ fixed amount of fund available to invest?
3. When was each any every counter bought and at what price?
4. Whether he took profit on any of the counter before?

Let's assume at the beginning of the year, i.e 2 of Jan 2014, the cost of portfolio is 27,420,638.86.
Now at 1230hr,29 Aug 2014, present value of portfolio is 25,256,462.09.
His portfolio is losing -2,164,176.77 or -7.89%.
It is already under perform compared to KLCI during the same period.
What is that to shout?
Simply buy any ETF and still perform better than him.
Judge for yourself.

Khazanah is simply too generous because the bosses are not the one who foot the bill. It is you and me, the tax payer (income tax, direct and indirect taxes and the coming GST).
How much is enough to satisfy those who just bought the share with anticipation of privatisation?
If 27 sen not enough, wait till Q2 result is out. Wait further till the full year result is out. Then you will thank Khazanah for robbing the whole country in order to satisfy a small group of punters!
Bear in mind when you enter the market, whether @ rm 8 or 15 sen, decision is yours. If you make money, nobody is asking for a share. Likewise, if you lose money, don't blame on others. Good luck and wish everyone making money this round.......

Any how, once you spent millions of dollars on consulting fees, please implement what is good for the company (and the nation). Don't get blackmail again by the trade union. Khazanah, please look into welfare of Malaysian tax payer. Every single ringgit is hard earned.

McKinsey is involved in NKRA projects. That should not necessarily make them best choice for the business turn about and long tern business consultants. Not to mention fees charged by McKinsey is astronomically high !!!

Any idea who is the Consultant engaged by Khazanah ? Or they themselves having in house Consulting Unit ? If the in house Consulting Unit is effective and competent, then MAS should not bleed to death !!! Long time ago they should have voted the useless Mas Board of Directors out. Idris Jala did a very good job, only to be ruined by the useless successors !!! Who to be blame ? The Khazanah bosses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Khazanah, I am paying too much income tax, and GST on the way. Don't squeeze me dry. I need money to keep going with my miserable life. What if I am going to retire, will Government pays me? Khazanah, you shit! You keep on wasting my money (as tax payer) and keep on asking Government to raise tax, merely because you are really not competent to run a sovereign fund! simple calculation shows MAS at best worth only 5 sen, why can't you privatised it with 8 sen and you have save government 971 million!!!

MAS will loss about 1 billion ringgit for 1 half FY, 2.5 billion plus or minus 0.5 billion for whole 2014FY. How much do you think it is worth after 1st half FY result is out? How much is it worth when whole 2014 FY result is out? If the company goes to PN17, let the price go down to 5 sen, then only announce privatisation bid at 8 sen (60% higher), everybody will be happy!

....find logical partners, sell non essential and non core assets, sell some route to AAX, concentrate on revenue enhancement project but not at the expense of cut throat competition, scale down to the optimum size, make all OGS trip compulsory to flight MAS but to reduce commission paid to the ticketing agents, beef up on line purchase with incentive.
Privatise at 8 sen is already doing good deed to the present minority share holders. Bearing in mind MAS will be technically bankrupt as revenue and cash flow dried up in very near future.

As a major shareholder of MAS, Khazanah must ensure competent officer be appointed as CEO. Kick the ass of those makan gaji buta. We, as tax payer of Malaysia have contributed enough financially, and already given enough opportunity for so call expert to turn a round a wounded corporate animal. We feel very sorry this wounded corporate animal is going to bleed to death slowly. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends of the victims. What is the MAS management plan to do to help those in need? Please don't be another laughing stock to the whole world. Put into practice crisis management and victim's care procedure. I believe aviation company like MAS must have a set protocol and contingency plan in place with trained personnel and regular drill.
