@clarencebak: agree with u...major banks in middle east mostly PE below 10..max 12 at peak..

i have experienced cut-loss in June/July during price drop from 8.5x to 8.1x...and stagnant at 8.20 for more than 1 month..

transferred fund to DIGI&CIMB and recovered the lost...and re-entered Maybank in July-end..

but now again falling in same situation :((

Just to share my experinece...

Two options for Maybank medium/long-term investor (including me also lah):

1. wait for rebound signal to buy, or
2. accumulate slowly using cost averaging method

my 2cents only..

@drakoryn...above is for short term impact only...that why i did not cut loss but holding it for medium/long term

Swiber exposure will reduce 5% of FY16 net profit...if assume base share price 8.00, less 5% would be 7.60...

with avg price 8.03...paper loss could go upto 6% :((

Only excellent Q2 report on 25/8 and high divident payout for Sept16..could help Maybank to rebound..

Q2 result expected on 25aug...in 3 weeks time...

Maybank good for medium/long term

i trade both...and i like both counters..

sold all CIMB today for profit...and waiting good opportunity to accumulate further on Maybank..

in term of rebound...CIMB is always like horse...Maybank is turtle..

but hope Maybank will prove me wrong..:))
