that rumour circulated since last year, to be honest!

the main thing is waiting for Customs to get its system to integrate that of Smartag's. Customs wants accurate collection from their own system but typically bureaucratically slow!

oh yeah, tapering. hmmm ....
--------------------
Go ahead and read about all the "macro" stuff – the economy, the Federal Reserve, government policy, tax law, and interest rates. Form your own opinions and ideas. Even debate your views with friends and family.

Then – and this is the most important part – forget all about your macro views when you find a great business trading at a bargain price.

Buffett and his business partner Charlie Munger claim to have never discussed the economy once in nearly 50 years together. They just buy bargains.

Peter Lynch says if he spends 13 minutes a year thinking about economics, he has wasted 10 minutes.

Most investors do exactly the opposite. They read all about the president... GDP growth... and government debt... and they get scared out of buying great businesses at bargain prices.

more case study of Buffett since you like to quote him, BsB:

Buffett’s perspective on earnings stability

We think that Buffett looks at companies whose earnings grow over a period rather than being satisfied that they had profits in each of the ten years. This means that he does not necessarily rule out a company that has a year of low growth or even negative earnings as a good investment. If the circumstances causing the low growth or negative earnings are not the result of bad management or a flaw in the company’s business plan and is unlikely to be repeated in following years, and the business otherwise qualifies as a worthwhile investment, we think Buffet would see this as an opportunity to increase his holdings rather than reduce them, particularly if the market overreacted. Remember that he says to be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.

Something brewing causing management reshuffle at AirAsia?

1. Passenger Movements at KLIA Main Terminal & KLIA LCC Terminal
3Q13: 12,099,608 +23.1%
3Q12: 9,826,238

2. Aircraft Movements at KLIA Main Terminal & KLIA LCC Terminal
3Q13: 83,415 +17.9%
3Q12: 70,770

3. Estimated seats available 3Q13: 83,415 X *220(ave per flt) = 18,351,300

*AirAsia operates Airbus A320 which has a seating capacity of 180 passengers.
*AirAsiaX operates Airbus A330 which has a seating capacity of
377 passengers.
*Malaysia Airlines operates A380, A330, B737-800, B747 & B777 meaning average seating capacity of 320 passengers
*Other airlines A330, A320, B747, B777, B737 average seating capacity of 280 passengers.

4. Unoccupied seats (est) 3Q13: 12,099,608 - 18,351,300 = -6,251,692

5. How will AA & MAS fair this 3QE13 with oversupply, competitive air fare, free seat sales, rock bottom promotions, high jet fuel prices, high operating expenses, high lending rates & weak ringgit?

6. Remember folks, a LOSS of Rm19.917m without AA Japan sale gains! Will AAX IPO gains come to the rescue this time?

Only time will tell!

so that means, in a stagnant economy of 0.8% growth in Europe, Ryanair achieved a net profit of €602 million (US$831 million) for the six months to end-September, can anyone tabulate a 28.7% growth story in Asia?

so how?

sorry to all, have to remind my boy boy the true condition in each continent! hehehehe

excerpt:

.....Globally, LCC seat capacity increased 6.8% to 558.9m for the first six months of this year from 523.2m for the same period of 2012. Capacity in Asia grew by 28.7%, followed by the Middle East at 17.7% and Africa at 13.1%. North America's capacity grew by 1.5% and Europe's by 0.8%.

"We see a natural boom in LCC capacity across Asia, where point-to-point air travel is largely underserved. However, across the mature markets of Europe and North America capacity is constrained, which may explain why some LCCs are considering new approaches to secure future growth," said Alexandre Jorre, LCC specialist at Amadeus - Home business section, p.6

Dynamics in play, the return of Kamarudin and TF is not to slight Aireen. She has done to the best of her ability, but she does not possess an entrepreneurial spirit, i would hazard a guess.

so how, we are being asked! Well, specifically for noob listener, wait for it! if 3Q13 is not so good, you may have a buying opportunity if you had missed the earlier 2.58 low recently. If not, well then, move on to another potential counter! never fall in hate like BsB to AA! hahahahahahahahahaa. no leak is sinking this ship yet with the latest announcement, right BsB? BsB, again let uncle here teach you. When facing stiff competition with MAS, profit is no longer the priority (although the management is still conscious of cutting cost). its about market share and you do all you can to protect your turf.

Please go read how Virgin Atlantic undo the bullying of BA and see where they (Branson included) are today. When VA defended their rights to certain routes, hence their market share, it give impetus for growth in the future. Its the same as securing a projected earning streams, very much like investment. so what is a bad quarter, if there is, against a backdrop of growth which i find no fault in AA getting there? But i see i could be wasting time talking investment even though you spew Buffett's quotes LOL.

really, did you fill the relevant forms for your missed flight or not? so angry with AA til now that you dunno how to make profit trading its shares ka? LOL

some of Price's catalysts are : company break-ups, M&A, lawsuits, takeovers, ROE, ROIC, products call backs, etc. He sees business first with balance sheet as the yardstick

News & Blogs

2013-11-06 20:53 | Report Abuse

Price's so-called transactions are basically the catalysts that is mentioned. He goes in big when there are...er.... "blips" to the price against the value. He believes there are blips happening all the time and take advantages of that on a fast and furious pace, even though he is a value investor in his approach. Of course, he can do that because he has over 200 analysts working for him when he was in charge of Mutual Fund.

if price heads south, it only shows window dressing activities are going on in earnest, my boy boy BsB. you have been shown to have presented nonsensical hearsay only thus far!

Price gyration is very common and an investor or trader takes advantage of such price movement to make money if they know how to calculate value. So far, you are seen only as a vindictive person against AA, even to the point of taking other counter's data and plagiarized it to mislead. did you miss a plane or something and AA refused to reimburse you? LOL

Stock

2013-11-06 15:11 | Report Abuse

BsB, you quote also please quote correctly la. Small leak can sink a great ship means if you leave the problem unattended, then even water fills up big ships.

TF didn't allow AA to rot as proven in the case of Japanese venture. That is why the analyst houses gave the thumbs up! In short, TF is hands-on boss willing to take big decision to cut loss (as in all business ventures) if things are not going right!

I dunno why you quote thinking yourself very clever, but actually you are showing you are no clever than my dolly, donkey dave! LOL Aiyah, small boy boy here much to learn!
