@Kinglive, if you do not know what you are talking about, please refrain from commenting with such absolute statements. To me, it looks like good news.

With the attractive PE + dividend yield + growing profits, it is surprising that none of the business news sections of our local newspapers have wrote a stock feature yet. Perhaps due to lack of uptrend momentum. Expecting one some time soon when there is a slight upward trend.

Kenanga is calling fairly valued for now. If you have a higher growth stock, time to lock in a profit from Scientex and rebalance. If not, holding is fine too, because this is a good company.

@calvintaneng, I guess he is right in many ways. But there are also many other things to look out for. For example, will the reduction in FFB crop lead to reduced future revenue?

This podcast on BFM featuring United Malacca Berhad clearly says that El-Nino effect interrupts flowering pattern which will affect future crop. http://www.bfm.my/bg-peter-benjamin-united-malacca-berhad-weathering-tough-times-plantation.html

But it is heartening to know that the major part of KMLOONG's revenue comes from milling, while the recent UOB report mentions that up to 70% of their FFB needs are fulfilled by 3rd parties.

@fiamma20, you are the one to say that they have insufficient reserves to carry out the bonus issue, which is a completely wrong fact. That already proves that you are a mental nut case, or have zero financial knowledge, or are tying to mislead people here. Which one are you?

@goreng_kaki, people like @Earth's agenda is just to TRY to create fear and HOPE to buy more at lower price that they DREAM of, but it just doesn't work. @leslieroycarter, if growth is consistent, any company can reach RM20 in the long term. It is a matter of whether we can spot other higher growth opportunities to rebalance portfolio, and we should continuously be searching.

@shinado, I trust that your valuation calculations are correct and it looks promising. However this article could be better if there was a report on the industry trend & growth potential for such machines & the company's core business. Among the first questions that come to mind are: shrinking branches, switch to online banking, rapid adoption of non-cash currencies, and even BNM is promoting the phasing out of cheques in favour of IBG. It would be good if you can provide an industry report, because, all might look good on the surface, but we do not know if this is a dying industry.

@leslieroycarter, I believe RM7 based on split of current price, would allow the entrance of many retail investors that were previously on the fence, and thus be supportive of the price. We don't need penny stock traders here for Sci, they are already doing well in share price with some major volume done recently despite the lack of liquid shares. My anticipation of RM15 only by mid year and not now is just a mere speculation, as the next results will be announced in mid year and that is when they prove to the market that their recent expansions are contributing additional profits.

@Banglala, you forgot that interest is covered by dividends which is forecasted based on profits. But that is besides the point. We are talking about a long term investment here. No one said to follow the analyst reports blindly, they are useful for the business analysis where you can quickly build upon it to get an understanding of the whole business. For valuation, you can take theirs as a reference, and then calculate on your own, even with a simple P/E and reasonable profit growth.

@limko1, no one is questioning anyone's credibility here, as I said all are industry veterans. It is all factual, and there is a contradictory statement in his post which hng33 should seek to clarify. Also have you read RHB & UOB reports on VS? Are there anything illogical and non-factual?

Stock

@rojakmee, thank you for speaking out. Some people here just do not get it. But can you explain one more point, isn't Nov-Dec the season where sales for US retailers hike because of festive seasons? I am guessing EMS players will see highest revenue in Aug-Oct as their customers stock up on products for sales during festive season in Nov-Dec. Then EMS revenue would drop for Nov-Jan because customers forecast minimal sales immediately after the holidays.

Stock

2016-03-31 14:10 | Report Abuse

@hng33, those statements are clearly contradictory, on one hand mentioned it is a cyclical stock, on the other hand did not point out qoq is lower due to seasonality, and instead just focused on saying that the results are weaker qoq. You should ask him to clarify further on this contradicting statement.

Investment bank may have conflict of interest as you said, but there is also a reputation to protect because research report is a service provided to their clients that are big fund managers. If your report is lousy and you cannot answer questions that are asked by your clients, you will lose credibility.

Also, how do you know he is more experienced than Lim Chee Sing and Vincent Khoo? I don't think anyone will dare to claim that they are more experienced than the other. All are industry veterans. It will be based on facts first, then only comes the subjective analysis and opinion.

Stock

2016-03-31 13:44 | Report Abuse

@hng33, he may not know that VS has seasonality. Why don't you contact him and see what he says? I believe if he is a responsible author, he might edit the article or put a new comment to highlight this point. Check RHB & UOB reports, both say that the earnings are in line with their growth expectations, and it is seasonal (post-holiday). And you don't have to start comparing who is more experienced, because these reports need to be approved by their Head of Research before publication, who are well known and reputable in the financial industry.

@Beary, I am not insisting anything. If you are saying the Biz Fundamentals is bleak and VS profits will be declining this year and next, then you should explain WHY. That's only reasonable, providing factual analysis, which till now has not surfaced. Right now the anticipation for bleakness by some here, without facts, only amounts to mere speculation akin to wishful thinking.

@hng33 you are right about this on the sentiment. But you are not right about qoq analysis, we should be using yoy analysis for VS. If it is a non seasonal business, then yes qoq would make sense. Seriously, go ask someone experienced, it would be good for you. Personally I am waiting to top up if it goes down to a certain level.
