@Ricky Yeo
The global demand for plastic packaging has been growing since the beginning of the industrial era. The link below is a good write up that projects the CAGR of the industry at 4.8% from 2015 to 2020. No worries even if other companies are setting up the same production line as the demand is strong enough.

I mean, the dividend entitlement cut off date is 27th July. That's why people who want dividend but dont want to hold the shares will start to sell after that day

Loan stock entiltles a much lower dividend compared to mother share. So as a sound investor, Temasek would definitely take this step to have more profit to the holding company. No doubt, the number of shares increases and will cause a dilution in EPS, but if they make good use of the injected fund to execute their business plans, the dilution will only be temporary.

Many people stress on price over potential, especially goreng traders. Rm3k can buy a good 100lots of 30sen share compared to one 10lots of Rm3 share.

Yes mililia. I talked to a few friends in the oil and gas sector, one of them in Exxon Mobil, he said although the overall earnings drop significantly but the profit from downstream actually improves due to much lower cost when the price of crude oil falls. Hence, the way to go in future is to explore downstream in order to add value to the raw material instead of selling it at low price. Petronas CEO has also said this in his interview and RAPID is their shield to protect their business.
My friends in Johor said Pengerang has been totally transformed and will be a huge thing when completed, bigger than the Kerteh plant in Terengganu. It is a commitment from both Petronas and the govt to make RAPID a success as it is one of the key economic transformation project. KNM has expertise in engineering and they are able to cater for such need and very potential to take a slice of this multibillion project.
Dont trust me, do check my facts please :)

SAM belongs to Temasek group in Singapore. Recent low oil prices has forced them to change their strategy to grow in non-oil and gas sectors as its core holding in Keppel has been badly affected. Travelling in the air has become more and more affordable, look at the millenials, how many have not travelled with plane before? The demand for passenger plane is no longer as cyclical as decades ago, the time when flight was only for the rich and famous.
I believe this is a sector that Temasek would like to explore. I have no insider news, just my observation and personal opinion.

Tguan taps into the growing need of plastic films for industrial use and with current low cost of raw materials, they will do well if they follow through the execution of their business plan, including the future expansion into manufacturing of organic noodles.

Just my 2 cents, please dont fire at me
In my humble opinion, oil price is beyond our control as there are too many factors/parties involved. What we can control is buy into a company that we understand. If you wanted to buy KNM, do buy it with a thorough understanding. Otherwise, it is not worth for you to sacrifice your peace on each trading days and panic sell/buy following the roller coaster ride of the crude oil price.

KNM will not be an immediate play but at least 2 years to see stable earnings and Pengerang RAPID will be a driver to KNM's future earnings. Many fear that oil price will stunt the development in Pengerang but Petronas is firm on RAPID as a strategic project to ensure long term profitability of Petronas.

Hi looyee, agree with you that healthcare will be the frontier for growth of TDM. However, the plantations in both Tganu and Kalimantan has more mature trees than last year, giving more yield to offset the lower QoQ CPO price. And with their effort in biocomposting to produce fertiliser has reduced their spending on chemical fertilisers. These collectively, I believe, will contribute to an improvement in the earnings. Just my 2 cents

Indeed mililia. If we observe the activities in O&G now, they are exploring more actively in the downstream production. Hence this will give KNM a boost

IMHO there are still a few attractive good counters doing export business. I don't categorise them as "export" counters. In fact, exporting is just another strategy to gain even bigger market beyond the local homeland. Business is all about growth. Business prospect is way more important than forex gains. A company that relies solely on forex gain is currency exchange/money changer, not furniture or electronics company, they cannot survive.
Companies with QoQ net profit growth achievement between 50% to 100% are experiencing real growth. Rough estimation, excluding forex gain QoQ (about 20%),they are still growing at around 30% to 80% range. Not good?
Just my 2 cents.

RSAWIT has a huge area of young plantations and is not making much profit compapred to other palm oil counters. if you buy it now, you are actually buying its future, not so much of its current profit.
