On that note, a survey conducted by Ernst & Young indicate Malaysian companies being significantly more confident about prospects in the local market now than they were at the beginning of the year, with 42% of respondents expecting to seek acquisition opportunities in order to improve profitability and have access to new markets. We anticipate a pick-up in mergers, take-overs and in other instances, privatizations in the coming year, potentially providing a lift and rerating catalyst to significantly undervalued companies in the local bourse. Watch this space!

After looking at SAAG, I realise that my principle of holding CASH RICH company like ZHULIAN and KFIMA will never go wrong what's more they are still in the growing path. Now I am a bit cautious on WEIDA and PERISAI although they are still doing very well.

Fandi,Zhulain result to be released any time. I think they can maintain good result with another interim 3 sen dividend announcment.

KongHui, have faith in your stock pick because the fundamental is very very strong. Just with a little bit of patience you will be greatly rewarded. Trust me.

Very Good news for KFIMA indeed.

Bulking business which contributed 20% PBT will be benefited from the discontinue of a tax free shipment quota as this will encourage the rise in handling and storage of edible oil and oleo chemical products.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Malaysia will cut crude palm oil (CPO) export taxes and discontinue a tax free shipment quota for the grade from Jan 1 2013, a government minister said on Friday, as the world's No.2 producer seeks to snatch back market share from top producer Indonesia.

"The implementation of reduced export duty on CPO will also allow the refineries in Malaysia to market their products at competitive prices to the global markets," Commodities Minister Benard Dompok said in a statement.

"In tandem with reduced CPO export duty, the government will discontinue with the duty free CPO export facility beginning 1 January 2013," he said after Malaysia's cabinet met earlier in the day to discuss measures to support the palm oil sector.

Dompok did not disclose the quantum of the cut in crude palm oil export taxes from the current 23 percent duty. (Reporting by Niluksi Koswanage; Editing by Yantoultra Ngui)

Fadhlullah, sorry I do not have any tips to shares.
Tuniamasingh, I am just an investor.
Why Weida, Perisai and Zhulian is doing very well? because Perisai and Zhulian are mostly in the hands of the institutional investors that are going long on the stock.

Should we all avoid plantation counters? Yes for short term. For long term you cannot avoid plantation counters because palm oil is a necessities. Bear in mind that cost per tonne for the listed plantation company is RM1,400 per tonne while CPO price is trading at RM2,400. So given another 30% drop in CPO price from the current price the company is still making good money.

I think I have to come back and clarify when KC Loh and Fandi drag me into their war path that really amused me.

Firstly, I am definetly not from BIMB. Am I not qualified to come from CIMB or Maybank just because judging that Najib is a Malay so that he must be from some Islamic bank? Anyway, good guess KC. But dun bring in racial slurr here. You know why, I am a GHOST BUSTER.

Fandi, I am not GOD and some of my prediction may gone wrong. Anyway, if you are holding on fundamental stocks the have faith on the stock and never ever swayed by the noise. HAVE BETTER EQ.

For those KFima, I am not an insider and definetly bukan Hantu as claimed by a master here.

Just ask yourself is KFIMA fully valued when the company is holding cash per share of RM1.00, P/E 7, EPS 31.20 and the company still record EPS for 1st quarter of 7.80(annualise 31.20) when the CPO price is at the bottom for last quarter? With QE 3 now, do you think CPO price will stand at current level?

Why worry about Election and compare with 2008 when the market was bearish during that time as opposed to bullish sentiment.

Our big TAIKOR NAJIB RAZAK will come out with more measures to stimulate the economy. Dun tell me you do not know why.

STICK TO A FUNDAMENTAL STOCK and YOU WILL BE REWARDED HANDSOMELY.

If people can compare a RM260 million net cash company with Sumatec and Petra which has long been famous with high gearing, then you must trust that person words because they have made the wise comparison.

yes Kfima is a very BAD company with P/E trading at lowly 7 and the managemnet is so BAD that they have left behind RM260 million in the company's coffer. Yes, the company will record more and more bad result from current quarters to future quarters.

KC for (1) & (2) confirmed is correct since Fima Corp is Kfima's subsidiary. (3) and (4) is my prediction. This quarter result should be worst than last year same quarter but should be flat against last quarter this year.

EPs should be around 6 sen for this quarter. NTA will increase to 2.15 and Net Cash will be around 260 million.

Do not forget that cost per tonne for most of the plantation company is RM1,500 per tonne, eevn the selling price of CPO dops to 2,500, the company still record good profit.

Hi all, allow to clarify here.
Actually Kfima is not a pure plantation company. Palm oil business only contributes about 33 % of the total profit for Kfima. What I wish to highlight here is that the average age for her palm oil is 7 only years old whuch is relatively young at this moment. Thr palm oil division will start generating huge income in few years time. Actually most plantation company has started reporting decline profit for 31/03/2012 reporting business but Kumpulan Fima and Fima Corp remained unscathed.

In fact, bulking, security printing and now food business especially tune business are doing well and contributing about 67% of the total profit forKfima. Not many propel know that Kumupulan Fima's subsidiary Percetakan Keselamatan Nasional is actually appointed sole agent printing "money note" for Malaysia government and also confidential documents. What excite me is that Malaysia governemnt will come out with the 4 generation Ringgit note and that will certainly boosting the bottom line of the company

Fandi,

Last year EPS for Weida is 19 sen vs 17.01 sen (2010).

The share price at 1.40 is trading at p/e 7.5 which is relatively cheap.

They are going to announce 1st quarter result 2012 very soon. Last year the company recorded RM2 million profit in the same corresponding period. If the company can record net profit RM8 million this time, this will be 4 fold profit increase if compare with last year.

Dividend wise, they have announced 4 sen per share =RM40/1400=2.8%. and it si lower than FD.

If this news materialise, it should provide good catalyst to the stock that means Weida will beocme net cash company. Do not forfet that Weida still has core business. Lim,I just read the news of Felda wants to buy big stake in Sarawak Plantation. May be they should look at WEIDA'S plantation in Sarawak as well. Very young age and should be contribute positively to Weida's earning in a few years time. In fact Weida's plantation value alone is higher than her market capitalisation. What i dislike the company is the high gearing.

This year they are declaring 8 sen per share. RM80/RM2300 = 3.47%.

This amount is slightly better than FD. In fact, Kfima has started increasing the dividend payout.

In fact, one has to study the history of Kfima and then you can comment on the dividend payment.

Credit must be given to Bahsir Family which has turnaround Kfima from a bad apple to a well established company in a short 5 years.

Myone, if you were to check my view on Kfima early June this year as posted in the forum here, I qoute " Kfima NTA now stood at 2.07 and net cash per share is 0.90. Based on the record, NTA for KFima had increased from RM1.67(FY 31/03/2011) to RM2.07(FY31/03/2012) that means the increase of 0.50 in a year. If the history repeating this year, that means Kfima's NTA can easily reach RM2.57, even if you chop the increase of NTA by half you will still get RM2.32. Do not forget that the capability of the company generating huge cash flow in one year. Last year alone te net cash of the company has increased from RM196 million to RM270 Million.

If one company NTA and Net Cash keeps increasing, the share price ultimatley has to follow."

Also Kfima EPS is 30 sen per share. Even if the company records a drop in profit by 15%(worst case scenario)the EPS still stood at 25 sen.

Edmund,ha ha. I dun predict stock without doing my homework before.
Actually I do not have to predict the direction of Kfima since the company's fundamental remains sound & solid and I can tell you that this is one of the best mid-cap company in Bursa Malaysia that one can ever find. This is the only company that I can say has chalked up good profit growth for the past 5 years (cagr 20%) without a break and the strong ability to churn out huge positive cash flow has put this stock that one must hold. I will only sell this company if the result turns bad and the growth has pause. Otherwise, I will average up in this stock as the valuation remains damn cheap.

The profit before tax for the current period amounted RM52.46million which represents an increase of RM37.05million as compared to RM15.41million in the corresponding period ended 30 June 2011.

For the financial quarter ended 30 June 2012, the Group generated total revenue of RM47.92million, an increase of RM31.01million as compared to RM16.91million in the corresponding quarter ended 30 June 2011.

The profit before tax for the current quarter amounted RM26.27million which represents an increase of RM18.1million as compared to RM8.17million in the corresponding quarter ended 30 June 2011.

The increase in revenue and the profit before tax for both current financial quarter and period ended 30 June 2012 was mainly due to the revenue and profit contributions from:

i. The Mobile Offshore Production Unit (“MOPU”) under Garuda Energy (L) Inc a wholly-owned subsidiary of Perisai; and

ii. The offshore support vessels under the Intan Group which is a 51 % owned subsidiary of Perisai.
