Ekovest is probably overvalued at the moment and cutback is very likely. Of course if you are a long term investor just stay put, top up when the price falls. Long term this company will grow well and has great management. As for me I missed my boat at 2.38 at the start of the year, now I will wait till it gets to 0.98 before I buy.

So what's these warrant about? Why is it bad for Air Asia? If bald why they do it?

Only thing is, I am not sure what to think about the dual listing of AA in NYSE or HKSE. Unlike the guy above mention, I DO NOT believe this dual listing is for an ASEAN holding component. Rather, from my understanding it is a pure dual-listing.
In such a situation, what are the potential positive impact? Will a cross listing in a foreign market cause negative pressure on the local market stock price? Or will it be a positive? AA as it is has an extremely huge foreign holding.

Well, I bought a few lots at 2.67. Alas, I just want a 25% return within the next one year, and if things look good perhaps hold on longer. I think AA is a national pride and kinda think they could do something special in India (it's a crazy place there!). Also the listings in Indonesia and Philippines may be good. Not to mention the AAC special dividend of around RM0.30-RM0.40.

Please be careful guys to be swayed by the performance as the PBT includes RM13.77mil from revaluation of investment properties. It's still higher PBT than previous Qs but only marginally so as the number is inflated by this one off "profit". http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/company-announcements/5342757

It seems a bit dangerous though, revenue has fallen A LOT in the past 3 quarters, yet somehow in all three quarters their NP margin is between 100-200%. Seems very suspicious.

Like I said at RM0.75 the stock is overvalued for the moment. Fair value for now is only about RM0.60-RM0.62. I won't be surprised if the stock keeps going down. At <70 sen I will probably top up.
Warren Buffet has two interesting investing philosophies that I subscribe to:
1) Buy when the market is selling, sell when the market is buying
2) Buy stocks such that even if you were not able to look at their price movement for a full week you can still sleep well at night
Again, the above is for investors. Speculators and technical traders...ignore what I said. And even for those who are investors, you have to do your own research into the company/industry and have a feel for what the upsides and downsides are so that you can trust your decision and let the stock fluctuate around without worrying as it moves towards the target you had in mind.

No, I mean are i3 counting the P/E ratio correctly? It seems pretty low. Research houses are quoting higher P/E ratios but I don't know how they arrive at those values.

Spinninglotus at RM0.65 confirm buy more lah. Just look at how much potential Armada has relative to its performance and earnings just 2-3 years ago! Currently the stock is maybe slightly overvalued, but Armada will pose quick recovery since 4 of its major projects are all coming on-line at roughly the same time, plus the rebounding oil prices relative to 2015-16. Add to the fact that Armada could earn one major contract this year and at least one minor one, plus settlement from Woodside...I think it's not crazy to think it will hit RM1 at some point towards the end of the year. Heck, if things go really well we could well see it hitting RM1.50, and I won't want to imagine what happens if it gets a really mega contract such as a FLNG.

Yan, when you consider all the additional share issues and stock splits etc and normalize them to the current levels, the peak valuation of the stock was at RM2.75...which is still rather substantial!

How to calculate P/E ratio for this? i3investor, Google Finance and Bloomberg all giving different EPS and P/E values.
i3vestor says P/E of 15.36
Bloomberg says P/E of 6.74 https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/KPG:MK
Google Finance says P/E of 13.44 https://www.google.com/finance?cid=176668968776770
Would appreciate some clarification folks!

Guys, come on, please. May I know why was the net profit for quarter ended June 2016 so abnormally high compared to previous and later quarters? Was there a one time profit being realised? What was the catalyst? I can't find any info on this. That may explain the relatively low P/E ratio if it is indeed something one off. Once that quarter drops off the EPS will also significantly fall leading to higher P/E ratio.

Anyone knows how EPS is calculated by i3investor? Does seem to match up if you add up all the four most recent Quarters.

If goes below RM0.70, I will definitely top up more.
wen77, agree with you. I expect higher FPSO chartering income especially since in previous quarter they had written off income from APP (Armada Perkasa/Perdana). Research houses also written off contribution from APP. But with oil prices rebounded since Q3, I am confident we get APP to contribute once more.
I also think OSV and T&I could be marginally higher due to the rebounding oil prices corresponding to increased O&G activity, but I could be wrong here.
But, the only thing is, when does the Q4 report come out, and is it released in mornings or evenings?

Ok guys, thanks! Another question is, how effective is it to use P/E ratio as a guidance for investing in Malaysia? Most online examples are for US markets and don't seem applicable here. So like for Ekovest the P/E is 10...in local terms is this low, avg or high? What's the avg/normal P/E ratio for the Malaysian construction sector?

Which brings the question, why is the baseline for 23 Feb quoted at RM1.10 rather than RM1.20, which was the closing price for Feb 22? Is it always we need to make adjustments based on dividends paid, or only for special dividend? It's very hard to find info on this.
2017-02-25 22:21 | Report Abuse
0411, why would the bonus dividend factor in into the calculation of the stock price post split? Before split it was RM3, so become RM1.20 post split. Why do you say must minus off the RM0.25 as well?
2017-02-25 16:04 | Report Abuse
With regards to EPS calculation, it shows as 4.80. Is this taking into account the latest O/S? What about previous quarters? Is the EPS taking the latest O/S or the previous O/S? How comparable are EPS across quarters when stock splits occur?

Guys please I ask before and will ask again. Was dividend of RM0.25 paid pre or post split? Meaning, if someone held 2000 shares before the split and 5000 shares after the split, does he get RM0.25 for 2000 or 5000 shares?

Results if bad will have a drop in price, sure...but it will be almost immediately corrected with announcement of Madura getting first oil in the next couple of weeks. Plus, we have to view that during the Q4 results they may announce some upcoming projects or extensions.
Simply put, if you are a trader/speculator, don't listen to me. But if you are an investor and bought Armada <70 sen, just hold it. RM1 minimum by year's end. That is a 43% return.

Guys, on 23 Feb 2017 Ekovest declared a Stock Split of 5:2 and a special dividend of RM0.25 (ex date of 23 Feb 2017). Some questions:
1) Assuming a stock was at RM4.00 the day before a 5:2 split, does it mean on the following day it will automatically open at RM4.00 * 2/5 = RM1.60?
2) For the special dividend of RM0.25 for Ekovest, is it paid to those who held the Ekovest stock at the previous price (~RM2.90) or those who hold the share on this very day at RM1.16?
2017-02-23 21:42 | Report Abuse
Also, the RM0.25 dividend...is it for those who held the share at the earlier price of ~RM2.90 or those who hold it on today's price of RM1.16? What is the dividend yield in % terms?
2017-02-23 21:36 | Report Abuse
Guys, how does stock split 5:2 work? Will this mean if price is RM4, automatically it will adjust to RM4*(2/5) = RM1.60? Or is the price movement solely be determined by the market?

My fellow friends, when does BAB Q4 report come out?
I will also say this, unless you are a trader (meaning, you are an actual investor) do not fret over the daily fluctuations in share value. If you truly believe that BAB has a number of upsides and no major downside, keep the stock until the upsides are priced in at the very least. Along the way to whatever TP you have in mind, be it RM0.80, or 0.92, or 1.15, or 1.40...the share will drop in value on some days. It is totally normal. So yeah, just look at the bigger picture. Don't care about all those nonsense graphing analysis, they are only right until they are wrong.
2017-02-18 12:00 | Report Abuse
My goal is still just RM0.80 by June, then RM1.00 by year's end. Of course, will be amazing to hit RM1.20 or even RM1.40, but those won't be easy.
Upsides priced in: Malta LNG begins operations in Jan, Angola first oil in Feb, and Kraken hook up in Feb
Near term upsides not yet priced in: Madura first oil by March, Kraken first oil by April
Long term upsides:
- Return to overall profitability by Q2 as Malta and Angola will be fully on line, possibly Madura as well. Kraken will be online partway through Q2.
- Also return to profitability for Armada Perkasa and Perdana in Nigeria which weren't being paid by the clients last year due to bleak oil prices.
- Compensation from Armada Claire, possibly a minimum of RM250mil
Bonus upsides:
- New projects secured, at least one major FPSO and one minor/JV FPSO or FGS
- Due to challenging 2015 and 2016, Bumi Armada may have trimmed fat that would show in 2017 finances. Also maybe better utilization/optimization of OSVs and OMS services
-------------------------
If all the above are hit we can think of ending the year at RM1.40. If most are hit we can think of RM1.00 - RM1.20. If only the basic upsides are hit we should be at RM0.90 - RM1.00
2017-02-14 21:57 | Report Abuse
Weng77, it takes about 2 months for hook up assuming there are no issues. So April 17 is possible, but leaves no room for error. Weather needs to hold up perfectly for example. 3 months is a more conservative timeline to complete a hookup. If there are major issues can even take more than that.

Why is this stock bullish? Got strong fundamentals, or people just main tembak only?
2017-02-12 15:29 | Report Abuse
Sheep if you do your research, these are all overdue good news. For the entire 2015-2016, Bumi Armada's hopes rested on the 4 projects. Malta operational in January, Angola operational in February, Kraken looks like it will be operational in April, while there seems to be a lack of public info on their Madura project.
For the past 2 years Bumi Armada hasn't obtained any new projects, there is a high possibility they win one or two major projects this year.
Another potential upside is the litigation with regards to Armada Claire. I think they could well get US$80mil, which is about RM250mil.
Bumi Armada in the past 2 years has been hampered by bad news after bad news...if things just go OK for the next one year...they could reclaim some of their former glory and double their market cap at the very least, maybe even surpass RM10bil once more.
2017-02-11 13:20 | Report Abuse
Guys, what are the potential downsides to Bumi Armada (aside from terrible Q4)? It seems suspicious that the stock value has been depressed for so long. Maybe the big fund managers know something we don't? Simple analysis tells me RM1 shouldn't be difficult at all for the year, which is some 50%+ returns...but yet for the past few months this counter has been relatively stagnant.
