1. ringgit is weakening form around 3.20 jump to 3.34 today after Japan QE n since oil is sold in usd so extra income due to currency exchange...

2. Contract oil n gas in international arena always in usd so the job in Brazil are also paid in usd...another extra income in ringgit term

3. assuming asset purchase in usd for msian oil field, skpetro still make good profit, because normally in production sharing contract (PSC) with Petronas it has price cap term i.e of certain oil price let say USD65 per berrel is the maximum that profit is split according the PSC term more that usd65 the different are belong to petronas...so since oil price is around usd80 per berrel i dont think there is any major issues related to income from oil to skpetro..

4. in addressing investment risk, bank always taking worst case/force sell case in granting the loan..n i dont think currently that worst case is happening n since the cap oil price is probably around usd65 likely worst cast situation would be around usd30 to usd40 which is about half of current oil price...

my 2 cent conclusion
1. skpetro is currently under value n in golden best buy period

2. today trading is dominated by syndicate to lock the price at force selling level to their buying advantage

3. oil price would sty around usd80 likely the most around 6 months... going cheaper n longer means closing off alot of small players n closing high cost producing oil fields and eventually will cause less supply n causing price increase...

yes u are right...just example if happen that azrb get the pan borneo job, i dont think it will fly over night to rm2 from 70cent...it will take time...so good to be sure n clear what are we investing in before comitting involving hard earning money into it....fyi i have been following azrb since 2012 till now....went in once in early 2013 sold in sept 2013....now just monitoring the progress till i fully convince everything regarding azrb making sence for investment...for now i m still dont fully understand why with eps just 1cent + but azrb price is at the current level...the only speculation that i have is the fund managers n stockists are playing the sentiment to sell off their holding before collecting at lower fair price in line with eps n nav...i persenally feel azrb is over price for now...because if u compare the annual report n news from others having severe mis leading figures

Following is my 2 cent opinion ::::::

No i dont invest in palm oil/plantation but invest on gadang n closely monitor azrb for future investment, for the reason i posted earlier...now seem palm oil price start changing trend to bullish after more than 3 years in bearish cycle...see below of my earlier posts...

and for tran-Borneo project to me will take alot of ground work n arm twisting before it can take off for the following reasons ;

A.from project preparation side;
for sure the proposed highway will go through many different type of land tittles such the indigenous, all the kampung, forest reserve etc environmental study (EIA study) and assessment will go along with them...with more than 1000km road all of these will take really a lot time before the dust can settle down and my guesstimate would take at least more than 1 year before the complete project proposal ready for tendering

B. Contractor side;
1. local contents are likely most critical n touchy issues...such as worker, local ceremonial on project execution, pay etc...

2. likely the project will be subdivided to several packages and each will require strong technical and financial strengths...this will also take some time for companies to agree on working together in handling individual package..

3. From geological stand point; sabah n sarawak are located in sedimentary basin n no granite available around required for making road and has to be imported for other region/from peninsular msia??? or they have to use carbonate rock??

3.1 the ground especially in sabah is not very stable due to active tectonic which will require special study and technique before building major roads...

4. anybody n company outside sabah n sarawak will require special approval and permit before can operate n work in those 2 states...

C. last but not least the political arm twisting, it is just as good as anybody guess

so all in all my guesstimate probably take to early 2017 before meaningful project can take off....

SO I WILL JUST SIDE LINE AND MONITOR THE PROGRESS AT LEAST
1 OR 2 YEARS BEFORE INVESTING TO ANY COMPANY/IES WHICH SUCCESSFUL
AND LIKELY A LOT OF THEM MAY BE INCLUDING AZRB AND GADANG AS WELL

SO NO WORRY FOR NOW JUST READ AND LISTEN TO THE DAILY NEWS...KIKIKI

3.2 oil price down trend affecting msian government budget causing potential budget adjustment n budgeted projects realignment n rationalization

3.3 the y2015 budget is a conceptual budget to kick off most of the construction projects which very much on early planing stage n approval stage before tendering in 2nd half of 2015....

so with that my conclusion...
1. a lot of uncertainty in 1st half 2015
2. good timing for bull to take a rest n let the young bear go on amok ...kikiki

the last abronomic 3 arrows managed to weaken yen from 79yen/usd to 115yen before stable at around 108yen n sustained about 1 year, the japan QE just announced last Friday kicked yen to 112yen potentially going up to 120 yen(one of main reason nikkei 255 jumped almost 5% cause japan improve export competitiveness), likely having short term effect to the rest global equity mkt...

but for long term i tend to believe there is a kind of unofficial agreement to all major central banks to take turn in sustaining the global economic momentum cause if the current situation not properly address the "EU economic ebola" will spread to the rest of the world and the capitalist economic model will implode worst than 2008 global crisis...

for intermediate term I believe after the current quick sharp bull run i.e about 3 weeks ago S&P was down to 1820 by now after breaking sept old all time high 0f 2017 n closed at 2018 which may run till end 2014, cause ;

1.based on history the sharp bull run which the current is the sharpest among all is not sustainable i.e the most will run for 3 months

one of the commentary in CNBC said S&P top around 2100...my estimated calculation based on recent low 1820 X 1.15 = 2093 i.e that is the potential 15% gain from recent low...
