i think there are some small & ugly casino there... It's a good potential site also, because Niagara fall is one of the seven Natural wonders... though I think it's a waste of time to visit.

RWF ( i think there's another tribe running it), GenM could apply new license at Finger lake, after they secured Catskill, Woodbury & NY city. No point developing Finger lake now, there is very little facilities there... low population and tourist.

But Finger lake is very beautiful... many Wall street bankers have holiday home there.
In long term, when GenM succeed at drawing more China tourist, they can develop Finger lake

Americans not stupid to gamble. Only Chinese believe in luck... and mostly Chinese suffer from gambling addiction.

I guess GenM's idea is to conquer the entire South > North road (from Airport, to Niagara falls)
Because NY has hopeless tourist infrastructure. People are rich there, but don't bother to invest in tourist stuff.

Now GenM has taken RWNY > RWW (Woodbury?) > RWC > RWF (Finger lake) > RWN (Niagara falls)
Once this chain is completed, China tourist will be stripped NAKED... they arrive with luggage of cash, go back home with only Underwear.

I have been there before. I strongly recommend you to go, if you interested to invest big in GenM

NY state is about 8 hours driving distance. Most area is jungle. Only Manhanttan is highly developed

Land at JFK airport > Visit RWNY, just beside airport > Drive to Manhanttan (see Wall street) > Drive to Woodbury outlet (1 hour) >

Drive to RWC (45 min) > Continue to head north (there are Hershey factory, Conning glass museum) >

Drive around 6 more hours to Niagara falls (Buffalo town, next to Toronto, Canada)

RWC is a superb time-wasting-cum-entertainment, for bored Asian guys, whose wife is stuck at Woodbury outlet.

Empire resort is listed around 1990's.. Kian Huat only bought them recently. So they screw up themselves... and Genting see a wonderful opportunity to have a stake in the TOP destination for Asian-brand-crazy-ladies... It's a fair deal. I don't think Americans should curse LKT

Catskill is only 1 hour away from Manhanttan. the average salary of people there is $150k USD
that's where Wall street is. They are money, but short of entertainment. RWC will do well when they build more facilities there. It will complement the new Legoland, due to open in 2020

Why not other people buy into Maybank, and dump their CIMB shares?

New york has one of the most lousy tourist infrastructure in the world. it has shitty airport, shit bridges, shit roads. You can use Google Map street view to see that.

But despite all the shit, NY is the MOST visited tourist attraction in USA
There's HUGE HUGE potential for hotels, theme parks, casino etc. The ang mo are too lazy to develop all these.

Obtaining gaming license is extremely difficult, due to moral & legal issues. Now GenM buy over another license in Catskill at a mark-up of around 50%, sounds reasonable to me.

Jonathan Las Vegas is not profitable because they are too many operators. There's less competition in NY, which is the world's Top financial hub. GenM is betting to attract the rich people. If you check on NY, it doesn't have many entertainment, unlike California.

Empire needs genting's client base (Chinese gamblers) to make money.

New York city has very run-down hotel, limited mix of tourist offering. Despite having huge amount of tourist, NY did not have the budget to develop it.

GenM's investment in NYC raceno (RWNY) will improve that.
Now, when they buy over Empire. It will link up the RWNY with Empire's Catskill. So it's gambling all the way from Airport to Niagara fall

Empire's Catskill provide a good stop over, for tourist enroute from JFK airport to Niagara waterfall, at Buffalo.

It will greatly improve the overall travel experience for tourist, who need 7 hours by car to travel from JFK to Niagara.

Hyflux is an empty shell right now. The gov has taken away the desalination plant. I doubt Utico really wants to buy Hyflux. It has no technology and just a system integrator.

On the other hand, China needs Malaysia to secure it's straits of melaka oil passage. So Malaysia will do well from China injection. The problem is that China's fund probably not so active in equity, but more on infrastructure?
