Anyone know why HL has way better NPL compared to Maybank? Maybank's NPL sucks. Seems like they anyhow give loans.

The risk for PBB is that if Teh retires, not sure if Bank negara will grant banking license to his successor. If not, probably PBB has to be sold to another bank. Then PBB's result will be badly affected.

Why Gen Malaysia is investing in new york? is USA market already very saturated?

Gen Berhad exposure to Gen Sg is about 50%. Right now China clamp down on capital outflow. the limit is only US $50k per person.
Looks like the VIP segment will be depressed for a period of time. Gen Berhad is definitely a poor buy

There seems to be an oversupply of houses in Iskandar johor. Is Sunway making the right decision to invest so heavily in the market?
China is building massive forest city with tens of thousands of units. UEM, PPB, Marsing are also in the party. Is there enough jobs to support the housing market?

Has anyone tried to the banking service of Maybank? I personally think it sucks. The admin seems half awake & not interested to do business.
If you email them online, they will route your email to multi departments. Round & round, and you will never get answer. Why invest in this company? the share price is stagnant for the past 10 years.

Public bank has 90% business in Malaysia. Is there any chance that the government stop granting banking license to the successor, after the founder pass away? then force acquire it.

Gen Berhad seems to be a Poor investment, compared to Gen Malaysia. there's too much dependence on Gen Singapore (which is saturated and going downhill in profits). Are you all investing in Berhad for the hope for Japan casino?
If there are only 3 license given by Jap government, Sands, Galaxy & Wynn are going to get it first right? (Big brother eat first). Gen Singapore may only stand a chance if there are more license.

happy123, side track to talk to about Gen Sg. Do you think it has already reach max potential? Sg government seems to force to it make poor ROI investment to feed the local economy, in exchange for 10 more year license.
10 years later, the gov may extort another $5b from Genting. This will greatly harm the return of shareholders.

boost, thanks for the advice
for long term, how much do you estimate the per share earning & what's a reasonable price for this company?
2019-05-24 09:56 | Report Abuse
Got it boost
EBITDA up 22%
Net profit flat
Net cash from Operation up 8.5%
To be conservative, how much do you think the company's actual net profit has grown
As the reported net profit may include certain items like aggressive depreciation, or one-off items.

sorry, i mean Mortgage interest rate
Before rate cut
Current account interest = 0.3%
Mortgage interest = 4.8%
Net interest margin = 4.8%-0.3%= 4.5%
After rate cut
Current account interest = 0.3%
Mortgage interest = 4.5%
Net interest margin = 4.5%-0.3%= 4.2%
Maybank's profit will fall
