Maybank's average ROE over the past 5 years was 9.9% and investors were rewarded dividends of between 50 to 60 sen a share. Just don't think dividend payout would be lowered.

No investment bank has ever forecast that the Dow would dip below 20,000 points again even if a recession were to hit. You have repeatedly claimed that Maybank would drop to RM5.80, if you are so confident of your claim, you should use all your resources to short Maybank. This would be the most correct thing to do.

RHB Bank is the best performing bank counter today, dropping only 1 sen compare to Maybank's 18 sen.

Sharps falls on Wall Street coupled with political uncertainty in the country are driving the market sharply lower today and Maybank is not spared. Those with deep pockets can continue to invest in Maybank if they are confident enough but those with fewer bullets should wait.

I would consider RHB Bank's dividend yield as excellent instead of just decent. Assuming RHB pays 40 sen a share dividend this financial year, at RM5.42 a share, its dividend yield is 400/5520 or 7.25%. I don't think there are more than 5 companies listed on Bursa with such high dividend yields, including rock solid counter Maybank.
