forget Kenanga, they are not IPP experts .

They relay information passed to them.

there are the good knowledge and the bad knowledge.
there are :
- prepackaged knowledge ( like from seminars and TV shows )
- opinions disguised as facts
- knowledge that are spoon fed and self taught knowledge

regarding coal prices/ coal costs, no private investor, local or foreign, will build an US$ 2 billion plant without cost pass through clauses/ protections via tariffs adjustments.

and mind you, Vietnam is in desperate need of electricity, its not like Vietnam is over flooded with electricity generation capacity.

and for the coal, it comes from an upstream mine...it is not as if they need to import it.

if things don't go according to plan, its called business risk, execution risk.....investment risk.

if u buy at 85 sens and make money , its called return for assuming those risks.

what is reasonable to assume is.........if things go according to plan, a 1.2 GW plant US$ 1.8 billion to build,

I also think the difference is because Philips do it using his own money while Choi depends on client money. Much easier to get client money using Choi approach.
