AmResearch is maintaining its net asset value (NAV) of RM4.61 for E&O, but narrowing the discount to 15% from 35% previously, hence raising its fair value to RM3.90.

Construction: Value of Penang jobs to increase 5%-10% from 2013's RM6.59bn
The value and volume of construction projects from the private and government sectors in Penang this year should increase by between 5% and 10% from RM6.59bn achieved last year. Penang Master Builders and Building Materials Dealers Association president Datuk Lim Kai Seng said that based on the projects announced by eight major developers and on the affordable projects which the state government had announced late last year to be developed between 2014 to 2017, the local construction and renovation industries could expect to receive about RM2.56bn worth of jobs in 2014 from these projects. This amount, he said, did not include projects from other developers and other infrastructure and public amenity projects to be awarded by the Government. “If you include these other projects to be awarded, the volume and amount would definitely exceed RM6.59bn,” Lim added. The eight developers with plans to undertake fresh projects this year are IJM Land (gross development value of RM538.5m), Mah Sing Group (RM280m), DNP Land Sdn Bhd (RM800m), a subsidiary of Wing Tai Malaysia, Ideal United Bintang (RM935m), Tambun Indah Land (RM616m), Sunway (RM290m), S P Setia (RM300m), and Eastern & Oriental (RM800m). Quill Capita Trust, Malaysian Resources Corp: New lease of life for Quill, MRCB to become
major shareholder
Quill Capita Trust (QCT) will become one of the biggest real estate investment trusts (REIT) in
Malaysia in three years with an asset base of some RM5bn from RM1.6bn presently, said
Malaysia Resources Corp (MRCB) group MD Datuk Mohamad Salim Fateh Din. “We intend to
inject assets worth at least RM1bn (into QCT) every year. We will inject these assets either
from MRCB’s side or from Quill Group. On MRCB’s side we have a pipeline of some RM20bn

Given its track record as an integrated water pipe specialist (on a supply and lay basis) and its ongoing role in the Pahang portion of the IRWT, we reckon that JAKS stands a strong chance in vying for the piping works at Langat 2.

Asiapac can achieve an annual PAT of RM40mil in FY15, even without full year contribution from its shopping mall income. This translates into an EPS of 41sen and a fair value of 33sen (PE 8x) for its FY15 that ends in Mac15. However, when it starts to enjoy full year rental income from Imago Mall, its fair value should be higher by then.

GHL Systems: Expects business volume to double after acquisition of e-pay
The acquisition by GHL Systems of the Australia-listed electronic payment service provider e-pay Asia Ltd will create a group that is at least double in size in terms of revenue and earnings, said GHL Systems CEO and executive director Kanagaraj (Raj) Lorenz. “We can bring e-pay into markets like Thailand and the Philippines and certainly into our own terminal base in Malaysia. Obviously, both the companies have synergies in terms of online operations, tactical engineering, software development and so forth. This helps us fast track our growth,” he said, also adding that the potential of cross-selling between the entities is huge. (Financial Daily)

Petronas approves US$27b Pengerang Integrated Complex

We view that the project, while involving many foreign players who have the
necessary expertise, will also benefit local players. Potential beneficiaries of the PIC and
RAPID as a whole include Dialog, KNM Group, Muhibbah Engineering, MMHE, Petronas
Chemicals, Daya Materials, Salcon, Eversendai, Mudajaya, Gadang and WCT Engineering.
With tendering activities still ongoing, we view that contracts from the PIC could be awarded
within 2Q14 so that works can start by late 2014 or early 2015 in order to meet the project’s
2019 completion target.

TA Enterprise: TA Global expects lower earnings from property division
TA Global, the property arm of stockbroker TA Enterprise, expects earnings from its property development division to be lower in the financial year ending Jan 31, 2014 (FY15) due to lower demand for higher priced properties and rising cost pressure. It however said it will continue to focus on its Damansara Avenue project – 19.42ha upscale mixed development in Bandar Sri Damansara – and will be launching some new projects in FY15 to sustain its earnings from property development. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TA Global said it is also projecting lower earnings contributions from its overseas and local property investments in FY144 in view of the expected upgrading works to be undertaken at some of the projects.
