I was justified with shares trading at single digit PEs, low dividends & several other real or imagined issues, some of which I had raised with our watchdog. But money talks and all's forgotten when the share price skyrockets. Now we smoke peace pipe.

I've been holding Petron for a long time - sitting on massive unrealised losses. I felt that the share price severely underperformed relative to its fundamentals. So I used to hound the board to declare bigger dividends - all fell on deaf ears.

Now it's beautiful music. As for how long it'll last, no one knows. My demands are simple - that I'll not be left without a chair when the music stops.

So the steep fall in commodity prices is affecting the share price. Despite that the management would have hopefully locked-in future prices at much higher levels. The results for at least 2 quarters should be nothing less than awesome.

What the management could do to get the attention of the investors and prop up the share price is to declare an equally awesome dividend.

Anyone knows if Myeg applied for a Fintech license?

Based on past trends, I've noticed that Petron is quick to rise & remains lofty for brief moments & then falls steeply. Let's hope that this time it's different.

I've been buying & selling this counter for sometime. More buying so a net gradual accumulation. My earliest recorded trade was a buy @ 8.2 & a sell @ 9.52 - gives you a rough idea as to the timeframe (all after Christ btw).

This Co was making quite a profit every quarter but paying modest dividends. Imagine someone with a healthy appetite, eating away but hardly going to toilet ie constipated. Eventually he's going to grow big albeit sideways! haha.
There was a time it hovered between 17-20 & I was puzzled as to why no one was paying any attention despite a suppressed price.

Then with covid, the price went further south. I used up my ammo to pick up some more bargains.

It still looks somewhat undervalued in my opinion - thanks to lack of trading liquidity. I'm no guru btw.

Packed with people. Never seen such a crowd in the shop before. Maybe the pent up demand?

No liquidity but pays good dividends. I like the regular share buybacks. Recently did 2 major takeovers at excessively generous (high) prices - maybe because flushed with cash or perhaps for some other reasons that cannot be mentioned here.

I worry about China muscling in. Could this meteoric rise be akin to a supernova which explodes and then collapse? The jury is still out at this juncture.

It's like a quicksand - once in, hard to get out and you keep sinking more & more money thinking that the share price is undervalued but hehe it remains undervalued

One of the biggest mysteries in life is what does it take to drive Petron share price up - increase in crude, good profits, great brand, topline growth, a burgeoning balance sheet chocking on its own excessive reserve retention, supposedly great management with seemingly great plans? Nothing seems to work

When oil price leaps, the share price moves up a little.
When oil price drops, the share price plunges. Haha

I personally have written-off this counter. I made >25k the first round. My 2nd strike doesn't look good in the near term. So I'll leave it aside & just collect whatever microscopic dividends they declare.

Crude price has jumped over the last 2 weeks, yet share price has not moved much

CPO prices are though the roof!!

So the much anticipated rally given the meteoric rise in crude, fatter crack spreads & good results simply fizzled out.

No more excitement here except for the puny dividends. This chat will also fizzle out until the next quarterly approaches

That's why I belief that if the share price is not performing then pay good dividends. That'll definitely draw the attention of investors.

A highly profitable company that pays a tiny dividend = a dog that barks fiercely & loudly but doesn't bite.

Fairly ok results.

As always, made a ton of profit but only pay a tiny dividends. Annual profit = 240m but only pay 54m. This small dividend pay out had been a sort of a tradition with the management for years. If the share price is trading at say 12X PE then I can accept it but it trades at very low PE.

Poor long suffering shareholders.

I'm absolutely convinced that Petron will release the results today.

In the past, it's almost always on Thursdays.

Ah yes - I've the distinction of selling 1 lot at 15 and another at 14.40 but got greedy & bought many above 10. Now I reflect my past, I realise that it reached 15 probably because the investment bankers "goreng" to launch the warrants successfully.
