Total silence from all parties is truly amazing! No updates, milestones, deadlines etc? Actually trading should be halted completely until conclusion is reached, this way there is no more speculation and loss of money. Very poor advert for Malaysia Plc.

Serba Dinamik Goes For Privatisation? Why Not!


Fokus Malaysia, read here post a very good question regarding Serba Dinamik Holding Berhad's current condition in the Bursa Saham's stock market,
Can prospect of privatisation be looming in Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd given that the patience of its major shareholders may be thinning having to watch the company’s share price stagnating at the 40 sen zone since end-July?
Noting the rising privatisations by listed companies’ founders or substantial shareholders, there are several reasons for this, mainly concerning valuations.

The founders or owners may have felt the market was not giving their companies a fair value for what they believed or perceived their companies are worth.

This is especially so when these companies’ market capitalisation is lower than their intrinsic value. For example, if the company’s share price is trading below its audited book value per share or its realisable net asset value per share.

Another reason could be poor trading liquidity in the stocks, as it defeats one of the purposes of having a company listed on any stock exchange.

Besides market conditions, founders or owners of companies may look at privatisation to carry out internal restructuring or reorganisation of their various businesses — possibly including those not currently parked under the listed entity — and feel this reorganisation would be best achieved if the company is firstly taken private.

It also makes little sense for companies to maintain a listing if the benefits of higher valuations, access to public capital and brand recognition are unable to outweigh the attendant costs as well as regulatory and public scrutiny.

YTL Group, for instance, has undertaken several privatisations of its listed subsidiaries over the past few years, the latest being YTL Corp’s proposal for YTL Land & Development Bhd in 2019.

YTL Corp took YTL Cement private in 2011 and YTL E-Solutions Bhd in 2016. In May 2019, YTL Corp also bought a controlling 51% stake in loss-making cement maker Lafarge Malaysia Bhd.

Technically, Serba Dinamik’s current valuation is at three times PE (price-to-earnings) compared to the industry’s average at six to seven times while its latest NTA (net tangible asset) value is a mere 1.05.

All this gives credence that privatisation cannot be ruled out given such move will open up prospect of a better return to the company’s major shareholders.

At 10.53 am, September 10, 2021, Serba Dinamik was unchanged at 38.5 sen with 5.92 million shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM1.44 billion.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to valuations. This kind of market is very difficult for a company to stay as a listed company as it does not get the premium valuation that it wanted.

You are overlapping SIR work with Audit work. In EY case, all questions are laid out for them to confirm. They dont have to go beyond that. Comprende??

If the price yet to break the support at 0.38, i will still hold.

Being at 0.40 almost 2 months.

Just diversify to other counters for the time being.

What is NOT rising though today is the stock market market, although Serba Dinamik virtually written off last week is back from the dead, refusing to sink into the red, holding steady at 41 sen.

The market though is sinking into the red. Yes the key composite is down, on a day when Singapore, South Korea and Japan are all positive.

What bothers me more than the key Malaysian index which actually a cornered index, is the
