Actually, it's better to report about the same time with the other banks, so to make it easier for investors to compare.
Previous Q, it reported a better than most (except CIMB) but there was not much positive impact.... investors cannot compare because it reported earlier than others.

Now, retail is getting bullish and many high beta stocks are flying......retail players don't buy safe boring stock anymore......except big investors seeking safe returns.....these uncles and aunties park in high dividend stock....like Maybank.....why want to park at lower dividend one :p

Price only matter when you want to buy or sell, for dividend investors, the "real money" is the one to be announced next week....price is for see song song only.....actually, for rich long term investors, price no need to be too high....cos they top up occasionally.

This one trades near 52 week high, ytd is up 3% after giving 30 sen dividend.
How about PBB?

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 4): Analabs Resources Bhd said it has acquired quoted securities in Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) with an aggregate value of RM21.57 million, which exceeded 5% of the industrial waste recycling services provider’s audited consolidated net assets as of April 30, 2022.

In a bourse filing on Friday (Aug 4), Analabs said the shares were acquired during the period from Dec 21, 2022 to Aug 4, 2023, and was funded by the group’s share margin account.

The group said that the shares were purchased in the open market at prevailing prices as quoted on Bursa Malaysia Securities.

“The acquisitions were carried out with the intention of deriving dividend income and for potential capital gains,” it added.

Last year, early September added around current price 8.90 to 8.93....after one year, return is still better than ASM even entered at high :p
